Sprint gets official with HTC Touch: November 4 for $249.99
Is it safe yet to declare that carriers are looking at finger-friendly touchscreens as The Next Big Thing in wireless? Sprint today has officially announced its HTC Touch, a device codenamed "Vogue" that brings all of the original's unique personality to the world of CDMA (and, thankfully, EV-DO). Besides the touted support for 3G data, features include a 2 megapixel cam, microSD slot with support for up to 4GB of expansion, Windows Mobile 6 Professional with HTC's TouchFLO interface, and comprehensive support for Sprint's media features including Sprint TV and the Sprint Music Store, all packed into a shell measuring 4 x 2.4 x 0.6 inches and weighing in at 4 ounces (trust us, it looks and feels pretty flippin' small). Interested parties don't have terribly long to wait, either -- look for it to start showing up in retail channels November 4 for a penny under $250 on contract with rebates.

It is about time for Sprint to start giving us phone gadget freaks what we need. I mean 5 years ago people were flocking to Sprint because they had the best phones and data speeds with the exception of GSM.
This is a step towards the throne again but only if they market the HELL OUT of it...Okay Marketing team wake up from your 5 year slumber and get the mass commericals rolling on this one...

but no keyboard....bah.....
chickenpants @ Oct 17th 2007 9:44AM
If only they'd skip this and go straight for the HTC Touch Dual Slider. The onscreen keyboard with this one is terrible.

So would MSRP be $500

I take back every bad thing I've ever said about Sprint. Just minutes ago, I walked into a Sprint store in Chicago, looking for a battery for my 6700. The guy who helped me was nice but clearly wasn't loving his job. He asked me for my phone number, I explained that it's a work device, I don't carry it (much), seldom use it for calls, don't know the number. He said he needed a phone number to complete the transaction. After a few minutes of him looking frustrated, he handed me the battery and said I owe him lunch! A $60 battery for free!

Wow, this is the first Windows Mobile device to support Sprint TV. I'm looking forward to having the .cab ripped for use on the Mogul.

Too bad about no Wi-Fi. In addition, the prototype version of the Vogue had a GPS receiver, but that's been left out of the shipping model.

Why, because it's locked to Sprint or incompatible (even though it's CDMA)?
Kam @ Oct 18th 2007 3:24PM
Anyone knows what the color choices are? Black and ?
houmanator @ Oct 18th 2007 5:21PM
Does anybody know for sure whether this have wifi or not? I keep reading contradictory things about it from different places. Didn't see anything on Sprint's website though! I know EV-DO is great and all that, but what's wrong with having a WIFI, it's free after all ain't it.
Harold @ Oct 19th 2007 10:09AM
not rly..., maybe at Airports, Libraries, some schools, starbucks, some Fast Food restaurants, Barnes and Nobles. but sometimes its restricted on what things you visitor private
ekimagem @ Oct 19th 2007 9:54AM
Yes. It Has wifi & Bluetooth and No Sprint is Obviously gonna have some upgrades made to it from the Unlocked version before its released. So its gonna be more imporoved .ANYWAY. Its about time Sprint gets with the program and starts offering some Cool Phones. I guess they realized "hey, maybe we can get more customers if we offer the same type phones as everyone else. Not just Cheap Sanyo's"
No it wont be on Verizon. Arent they gettin the Voyager anyway? If T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon all get their Exclusive phones why cant Sprint?
I just wish Sprint Didnt wait till 2 weeks before the 4th to Say when its Comin out.
So "Touch" On The 4th? Or "Pearl" on the 23rd? Thats the Question...
