The black suit did enhance Spidey's powers but at rather an unacceptable cost since it was a parasite that affected his personality and intensified aggressive tendencies. Just thinking that I wouldn't want to tie my product to something like that - its not just fanboys that will know that (particularly after watching the movie). Giving away the movie is fine by itself - the tie-in to justify it is stupid.

Adam

Comments on Nokia's N95 8GB released with a Spider-Man 3 surprise

Then I guess you shouldn't buy this phone =)

jaga

Comments on Nokia's N95 8GB released with a Spider-Man 3 surprise

This is a fairly expensive handset for the average person. But it is unlocked. I don't see why people aren't buying this instead of the iPhone to tinker with. There's no way to have this handset bricked. Nokia is screaming for people to load all sorts of junk on it. It has a great feature set. I've already seen SpiderMan 3, so I wouldn't give a crap about getting the movie with the handset.

Constable Odo

Comments on Nokia's N95 8GB released with a Spider-Man 3 surprise

The N95 has a nice feature set, but unfortunately it doesn't live up to those specs. From the specs this should be a 8 or 9 out of 10 type of phone, but if you use it you will quickly feel that this is more like a 6 or 7. I used it for a week, but I recommend you to go to a Nokia dealer and try it. My friend have had it for about 2 months, and he agrees. There is just something underwhelming about this phone. I suspect a lot has to do with the Symbian OS, but it is more of a general feeling after having used this phone. I switched to a HTC TyTN II and it feels like it is in a completely different league. The only thing that is better on the N95 is the camera, but I don't worry too much about that as I have both a compact and a DSL digital camera that blows any mobile camera out of the water.

Geir

Comments on Nokia's N95 8GB released with a Spider-Man 3 surprise

Are you talking about the old N95 or this new 8GB version?
Because the larger screen and increased ram do make a large difference.

Dont you think HTC's screens are terrible? I am not doing a comparison, I just gave an example of an alternative that I find better. There are likely others too (that I would find better). I would not be surprised if E-Ten's Glofiish M800 is better than both the N95 and TyTN II, but that is not based on hands-on experience (not even sure if it is available yet, I think it is next month on these shores). I did not say the OS is bad, Symbian OS is a heck of a mobile OS, so read my post again (or maybe I need to be more clear in how I articulate myself :-). What I hinted at is that maybe this incarnation of the OS isn't up to the task on such an ambitious phone.

I don't see how me saying that only the camera on the N95 is better than on HTC TyTN is not good enough...you can argument against it if you want, but my opinion still stands. :-) I would like to hear if there are features or functionality on the N95 that you think is better than on TyTN II, because I just express my opinion but would like to hear others too.

Geir

Comments on Nokia's N95 8GB released with a Spider-Man 3 surprise

I am not getting you at all. I've had the original N95, and my only complain was its fit and finish which has now been taken care of with the new N95 8gb. It's not a perfect phone, but there is nothing disappointing with its performance at all. Why? What feature of the N95 that totally made this phone so disappointing for you? The only thing I find disappointing with the N95 is browsing the web, but I find browsing the web disappointing with ALL CELLPHONES in general anyway. I would ALWAYS leave that chore to my laptop. Why? What does your HTC do that totally makes the N95 so disappointing? Does it call your contacts before you even dial their numbers? Does it type your text message for you even before you start typing, and it knows exactly who you're going to send it to? If your HTC phone doesn't do those things that I've mentioned, then I don't think your complains about the N95 are at all valid.

jaga

Comments on Nokia's N95 8GB released with a Spider-Man 3 surprise

@Geir, was that the N95 with the upgraded RAM and battery, and HSDPA 1900 ("US" 3G)? However, my friends phone is the predecessor. I did not complain about the N95 being slow, but the new model was surely snappier than my friends phone. I just had an overall impression that I got a phone that did not live up to its promise, the only thing I was really happy with was the camera...but the camera was not a big priority for me. It is not a bad phone, but I just want to let people know that they should check it out before committing to this one so they don't risk shelling out big bucks on a phone that MAY not satisfy their needs. I recommend trying it out at a local dealer or check if a friend or colleague has one.

Geir

Comments on Nokia's N95 8GB released with a Spider-Man 3 surprise

@Geir. Why? What was your expectation with this phone? Which promise did Nokia give that didn't live up to your expectations? The N95 is still a cellphone at the end of the day, just like the rest of multi-media smartphones. The N95 promises easy web browsing capabilities, but it would never be as great as your HP laptop in browsing the web and performing other PC tasks. It boasts of its beautiful 2.8" screen, but it cannot be as beautiful as your Sony 42" plasma TV at home with Bose surround sound. It promises beautiful pics, but it's only the closest thing you'll ever get from a camera phone compared to a standalone 7megapixel Panasonic digital camera. Were you actually expecting the N95 to REPLACE ALL of your standalone media machines? LOL. Was that the Nokia promise that you are referring to? With your mentality sir, none of these multi-media phones will ever satisfy your needs. Unless you can tell us that your new HTC phone can replace all those said media, then I don't see why you find the N95 so disappointing. If I were you, just stick with the most basic phones that you can get for $30 or less without a contract, for that is what phones are really about, making and receiving calls =)

jaga

Comments on Nokia's N95 8GB released with a Spider-Man 3 surprise

I like the specs on this phone. However, the killer for me is the thickness (cut it in half) and the lack of a qwerty keyboard. Or better yet, give me the half baked sure-type on a "Pearl 8100". I gues they need to upgrade the processor if people are complaining it is slow, or offer with another operating system. Also, I'm not sure if it has a memory card expansion, which would also be useful.

xman

Comments on Nokia's N95 8GB released with a Spider-Man 3 surprise

Havent realy heard complains about it being slow. The features that are on the N95 are nice EXTRA things to have for a cellphone, and it comes with a price and limitations. As promising as its camera is in taking pics and vids, I will not use my N95 to shoot my sister's wedding, would you? As handy as its wifi feature is, I will still use my laptop when I'm at a coffee shop and need to do heavy internet browsing. As entertaining as its pre-installed games are, I'd still prefer to play with my Xbox or WII when I'm at home. As vibrant as its 2.8" screen is, I'd still prefer to play my DVD's on my 42" plasma TV in my bedroom when I'm home. Now, when can I make use of these N95 "nice to have" extra features? I could quickly browse the web for movie listings while I'm on the go to meet up with friends. I could listen to its MP3 player or watch Spiderman3 while on a short trip on the plane or at the airport waiting for my flight. I could play one of the installed games while in line to pay at Costco on a busy weekend, or when I'm in a boring staff meeting with the CEO. Those are the times where those extra features come in handy. Not when you're doing a major project for Donald Trump.

jaga

Comments on Nokia's N95 8GB released with a Spider-Man 3 surprise

ULTRA MOBILE DEALER
Dealer of various types of mobile phones
***Buy 2unit Get 1 Apple Ipod 20GB FREE ***
Shipping terms: (UPS/USPS/FEDEX/DHL)
Contact E-mail 1:johnbannermobileaccessories@gmail.com
Contact E-mail 2:johnbannermobileaccessories@gmail.com

WE ARE GIVING YOU THE PREVILEGE OF BUY TWO GET ONE FREE APPLE IPOD 20GB
Ultra Mobile Dealer provides a Solution and Production of mobile phone, PDA, Pocket PC and Pager.
