With iPod shuffles and nanos available in a variety of shades, it only makes sense to bring the love to the iPhone too, right? AT&T's internal inventory sheet is apparently now showing iPhones in "deep red" (we probably would've gone with something a little more neutral like black for the first new color, but whatevs) though we don't have any information beyond that. No release date, no picture, nothing. The presence of a 4GB variant of the deep red iPhone here has a little skeptical, considering how its silver sib
just got the ax, but who knows -- maybe Apple figures a dirt cheap model colored to match Festivus decorations will sell like gangbusters.

4GB??
Conrad @ Oct 12th 2007 6:57PM
Wouldn't that just mean a PRODUCT[RED] version of the iPhone? I'd imagine they'd offer one by the Holidays, since Apple is a strong supporter of that charity.

zomfg PRODUCT(red) iPhonez!!!!!!!!!!!!!
...I could really care less if Apple opts to use a charity to sell some more iPhones.
"Oh, but we'll donate $10 to (insert lost cause here)!!!!!"
Um, if I wanted to donate $10 to a lost cause, I'd hand a 10 to some homeless person, not buy a $400 phone.

Engadget comments would be a much better place if they added a filter to toss comments with a "LOL" or more than one consecutive "ha" or "!"

dude, learn to use Photoshop properly before you show your, somewhat patheric work, please
Andrew Michaels @ Oct 12th 2007 8:58PM
They are probably taking the unsold 4gigs, painting them red, then reselling them
Dan @ Oct 12th 2007 11:46PM
Or, it could be code for the 4gb = 8gb and 8gb = 16 :-) When are those due to release?
James @ Oct 14th 2007 11:51AM
I work for AT&T and that is definitely a screen shot from our POS system OPUS. Who knows whether or not the text was photoshopped though?
zacharychouston @ Oct 15th 2007 4:51AM
James James James...you can be fired for that my dear boy...you actually shouldn't even share anything about OPUS (even the title)...Remember during training all of those papers you had to read and sign? Yeah, those are there for a reason. So, at least change your posting name or something to be safe...they're pretty serious about internal info being leaked and will do what they can to track you down...trust me. AT&T is a big company, with a lot of eyes out there...and it's not like Engadget is a small little no-name blog...I left the company and had to return every document that had internal information or i might have been subject to prosecution.

dude....im 14 wat do u expect?
Bill @ Oct 16th 2007 7:41AM
ABSURD...Apple has discontinued the 4 GB iphone, so this is nonsense. They certainly wouldn't/couldn't release a red phone that doesn't exist, now could they? Not even Steve Jobs can pull that off...
booboo @ Oct 17th 2007 3:42PM
I've been waiting for colored iphones since the iphone was released. I've been refusing to purchase the iphone until I can buy one in a perfect shade of royal blue. (did you hear that Apple? Royal blue!!!!!!!)

go see colorware they have colors and stuff. but you can get your happiness for a price. A rather steep one. i think its around 150$ for a paint job.
