Apparently not content to merely
hire Beyonce to push the plain ol'
UpStage, Sprint and Samsung have
collaborated with the entertainment mogul to release the B'Phone, a dolled up version of the two-sided handset. Lucky buyers will be the recipients of a burgundy UpStage trimmed with gold accents -- we'll let you be the judge whether that's hotter than the all-black original -- along with exclusive Beyonce-themed content (naturally) and a rather fancy set of packaging materials. Aspiring Beyonces of tomorrow should be able to pick it up November 4 online and in Wal-Marts (yes, Wal-Marts) across the land.

Does this come with some junk-in-the-trunk?

B'day. B'phone. B'utiful.
Beyonce + cell phones.
Is there a better combination?

Perhaps some GSM lovin', but hey, it's a start.

Beyonce?
I think I'll stick to the old fashioned type of lovin'....

I saw a sample of the original at Radio Shack, it looks interesting. I didn't try to use it, I was in a rush. The only reason I might consider a celebrity special edition is to get a different color theme, I usually don't care for the actual celebrities.

I would like to thank Sprint once again for letting me down. While they are paying Big Butt Beyonce for putting her name on a phone that NO ONE will buy, then degrading themselves further by putting it in Walmart (btw I hope no one forgets that back in 2005 Walmart signed a deal with Destinys Child for promotions at Xmas time, so this is no coincidence) But I read a post up that AT&T has the LG Prada coming to them. Wake up Sprint no one cares about a phone that has been out for the last 9 months but in a different color. We care about phones that do cool stuff. Letting the iPhone go to AT&T is fine but to let the "Prada" go there? Sorry but I see now that Sprint will never what its users want, it maybe time to make a change.

...no one cares about a phone that has been out for 9 months in different colors?
Have you *not* heard the RAZR?
I am not talking about the v3[insert any letter of alphabet here, hell, maybe two!], I mean the original v3. Surprisingly enough, it's the color change that kept it alive. So yeah, releasing it in another color couldn't hurt that much.
....but, then again, it's the world of CDMA, everything seems a little backwards there. JK, of course. I'd totally get this if it were GSM, and, you know, not so feminine, but, then again, it's Beyonce so I really wouldn't care and that's what phone cases are for!

Honestly, I never fell into the Razr thing but I think thats a different situation I believe. First, I think that the Razr was an exclusive for one of the carriers for awhile, then began coming out to others. I remember Sprint was the last to get a Razr and that was just in October of 2006. It was released in 2004. There wasn't a CDMA version until a year after is was released. I believe where the colors came from was exclusives from different carriers now having the phone to make themselves different. The Upstage is not anywhere else right now in the US. To me it doesn't make sense to pay a musician to pimp your phone. Let the phone pimp itsself.

Dang B is coming out with all kinda things. I guess Jay is teaching her a thing or two. I first read about this on global grind's website at www.globalgrind.com and had to come check out more.
