The phone has a sticker on the side that shows: "Powered by Qualcomm". Its a 3G phone, but isn't picking up the 3G signal since T-Mobile has not turned 3G on yet for the towers to broadcast in the 1700MHz band.
We will not be turning on the 3g in those launch markets until the FCC gives us the all clear on our purchased spectrum. Over 8000 of our Towers have been upgraded for 3g, but the 1700mhz band has yet to be cleared by the government for our use.
Tmoguy: do you guys know if the HTC Kaiser supports your AWS 1700, or it needs a firmware upgrade? Having a working 3G would loose a lot of at&t folks into your fold.
