Orange UK to get 16-key HTC Touch Dual, not 20
We've personally never had an easy time getting used to 20-key (think SureType) layouts, so this doesn't really break our hearts -- but on the flip, we understand that it's one small step away from QWERTY, which is bound to upset a few folks. MoDaCo is reporting that Orange's UK outpost will only be offering the 16-key full numeric variant of the HTC Touch Dual, apparently looking to position the device somewhere underneath the true email powerhouses in its lineup. Which version do y'all prefer?

Oh my god! The cube is still poking up out of the screen! Let's spend 20 comments bashing HTC's graphics designers!

ZOMG! The "6" button is darker than the surrounding buttons!!!
It looks like a neat phone.

That's it for Joe Torre. He will be fired from the Yankees. Too bad!

personally, i'd rather have the 16 over the 20. i have a few friends with bb pearls and i've tried using them and they kind of suck, i'm not sure how they got used to that suretype keyboard

It doesn't matter if it would have 16 or 20 keys, if it lacks wifi.

Yeah, no wifi and then no SureType keyboard. Two dealbreakers in a row.

Does it still have handwriting recognition?

Familiarity is the only thing i can think the 16 key layout brings. without wifi it may not be adopted by any serious business or heavy email users and so i supppose the 20 key layout mey not be missed much by this phone's target audience.
I'd still love it with wifi and the 20 key layout but fear i'll buy it none the less!
