Internal AT&T site foretells Tilt launch
We figure this website wasn't intended for public consumption -- either that, or we're all invited to the "2007 National Launch Tour" for the imminently available AT&T Tilt, and we should be speaking to our regional sales managers immediately to confirm our eligibility. The picture here looks pretty much like what we'd seen of the HTC Kaiser variant in the wild, confirming that the front cam is gone (no surprise), though it's a little chubbier looking than we thought, yeah? Or is it just us? Anyway, the site gives nary a clue about when we might actually be able to get a Tilt in our hands simply by walking into a store, but happily, everything we've heard still points to an October launch. Now if you'll excuse us, we're going to go track down our regional sales manager.

Lighting can cast an illusion as to the true size of something. Often times you cannot trust a 2D visual image when it comes to size and depth. BUT, you CAN trust numbers. They are static, and released on the internet. Those dimensions are 110mm x 58mm x 18mm which is a tad smaller than the 8825. Trust static numbers, not what you see in pictures. I notice a lot of people complaining on sites about things like the lip around keyboard, thickness, color, etc ... all of which are effected by light and angle. I say look at one physically.

I got to preview this last week. It isn't too bulky and feels solid, but is surprisingly heavy. They're actively working on new firmware to get everything working properly.

Hmmm since you got to preview one, do you have insight as to the release? Put one happy face for the 5th, and a sad face for the last of the month. lol

i have a kaiser, and it feels like a million bucks. it's heavy, yes, but i look at it as more of a reassuring type of heavy. you can tell you're holding a nicely crafted device in your hand. there is a lip around the bottom part of the device, and it's higher on the sides than on the front.
the power button sucks, though...

True, you can't trust a photo over actual dimensions but that picture makes it look like both the top and bottom sections are quite fat. Seems pretty consistent with the pics we've seen though -- not really a surprise. I used the T-Mo Wing for a while and it was a serious brick too. Probably very similar form factor, minus the tilt-factor of course.
Speaking of which, there were a lot of early rumblings about the Wing being underpowered and I assumed it was just the usual fanboy whining; Unfortunately it wasn't. WM6 was painfully sluggish. There was a minimum lag time of at least a second when sliding out the keyboard which triggered the landscape/portrait mode switch and it could be over three seconds if anything else was happening. If the Kaiser has enough balls to pull it off gracefully I just might get one.
