Nokia launches business-minded E51 handset

While Nokia didn't exactly choose the quietest day to launch its latest handset, the E51 is getting official, regardless. This candybar-styled device was designed with the suits in mind, as Nokia even touts its ability to "integrate tightly with corporate telephony systems (PBX) through Nokia Mobile Unified Communications solutions." Specs wise, you'll find a two-inch 320 x 240 resolution screen, two-megapixel camera, video streaming / playback with support for H.264 and Real codecs, video calling capability, integrated 802.11g, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, FM tuner, miniUSB, IrDA, GPRS / EGPRS and HSDPA compatibility, up to 130MB of memory, a microSD expansion slot, quad-band GSM and WCDMA 850/2100 support, and up to 4.4-hours of talk time (or 13 days in standby). The E51 is slated to ship globally in Q4 for €350 ($485) sans a contract, and if you're craving more pics, just hit up the gallery below.

Even though AT&T is 850/1900, will this still work on just 850mhz or does it needs to have both?

Technically, it will work on AT&T's 3G network where it is 850, but coverage is likely to be so spotty that it probably isn't even worth it.

I really like the look of this phone. Although I'm curious...this is a fully loaded E-series phone. So where's the Symbian menu button?

Nokia is changing a few things around to make it more people-friendly, likely due to this little iPhone insurgence. The 'Home' key is actually the Symbian menu key.

Well e series is kinda far from camera phone idea dont you think... Nokia just has to put camera on every phone. 2pm is least what Nokia tuffs on them thought if theres something i would need that would be E90 with out camera.

My anuerism kicked in - what makes this a "business oriented" phone? Quad-band? If I were a suit-wearing business guy - I would want a built-in clothes iron or steamer and a self cleaning lint brush. Oh, I get it - the video calling capability - am I the only person in the world who calls someone to talk to them, not look at them.

One touch access to business apps, mail 4 exchange, email preview on standby, etc etc...

Really, most of these can be used in a N95 for example, but Nokia doesn't let us, it's all about positioning in the market.

As a business user, I find this phone to be useless without qwerty or at least a suretype keypad. just shows you why RIM is dominating the us market. I say this as a Nokia fan!
