HP iPAQ 910 coming to AT&T?
We're not really used to being buried in an endless array of Windows Mobile devices on any American carrier, but that could be the very problem we all face on AT&T if this latest tidbit materializes. Between the Tilt, Q Global, SMT5700, Pantech Duo, Treo 750, and the BlackJack -- all released or just around the corner -- pretty much every form factor, platform, and price point is covered, and it looks like the recently announced HP iPAQ 910 is in play now, too. Documentation on HP's site calls out the 910c (the version equipped with a 3 megapixel autofocus cam) as destined for AT&T's airwaves, a logical move considering the device's support for HSDPA 850 / 1900. Yeah, the extra choice means extra confusion for consumers just looking for a decent smartphone -- but with GPS, WiFi, and a touchscreen rocking Windows Mobile 6 Professional, we're not about to complain. Is there any indication of a release date here? The ONLY downside that I can find is the 2.5mm jack. I want this device something fierce.

Also,
In the past (look at the version that the 910 is replacing) there has been no discount for buying on AT&T. If the MSRP from HP is $549, what could the AT&T price be?

Looks nice but its probably not what I'm looking for

I posted it @ BGR Via HoFo.
This phone will be sold on HP's website and AT&T Premier most likely, just like the hw6925 was.
So if you can order through Premier, then you will get a nice AT&T discount. Otherwise, just order the unlocked version.
No, no release date yet. I can see this replacing my 503g but we shall see.

I posted this at BGR, but no one seemed to answer
{Dear Boy Genius,
On page 4 of that PDF we can find the following:
HP iPAQ 910c Business Messenger with camera
FB050AA#ABA United States
FB068AA#ABA United States - commercial
FB070AA#ABA United States - AT&T
Does this mean we can find it on AT&T (FB070AA) AND unlocked (FB068AA) what about the FB050AA?
I dont get it.
PS: how about dates? This model was announced with the 610c which you can easily find on the site, but this one you have to dig for it}

There's no confusion at all - if HP wants to compete, they need to at least match the screen size of the Kaiser/Tilt!
Numetheus @ Sep 28th 2007 4:19PM
No they don't. You seem to think that EVERYONE has your opinion in what is optimum in a device. I hate the form factor of the Tilt after seeing an 8525. WAY too big, and I hate the slide action. hate hate hate it. I get too many messages to be taking it out, and sliding a retarded keyboard over and over and over all day. I would much rather take it out and just start typing quickly, then put it back in my pocket. Show my how they can give it the screen size of the Tilt, AND make it small enough for people who are conscious about the size of the device. I don't think it is possible.
They make devices for different demographic. People that are serious with messaging and do it FREQUENTLY, for the most part hate sliders. Why do you think BlackBerry is still a preferred business phone? People want quick access to messaging, not dink around with a playschool toy keyboard.

i agree this form factor/screen is much better than the tilts
