Alltel releases Motorola RAZR 2 V9m
Alltel has followed up three of its four national competitors today in releasing a variant of Motorola's RAZR 2, the V9m. As you might expect, Alltel's version has some carrier-specific customization -- Celltop, XM Radio, and TeleNav GPS are all on board, features well suited for the V9m's EV-DO radio -- and it seems to be sporting the most conservative color scheme we've seen to date for a RAZR 2 launched in the States (could be good or bad depending on your taste and your line of work, we suppose). Otherwise, the V9m comes with stereo Bluetooth support, microSD expansion, and that huge external display that we've fallen in love with. Grab it today for $299.99 on contract after rebate.

Come to Canada already! I need to start selling this phone!

Any word on who'll be getting this phone in Canada? Will every carrier end up with it like in the states, or does somebody have dibs on preliminary exclusive rights?

Wait... $500 out of contract... and the PPC-6800 is $550 out of contract.
$300 with a 2 year contract, PPC-6800 $250 with 2 year contract (well, with $100 main in rebate)...
That doesn't make sense...

Hmm, how long will it take for a monster pack firmware to surface for those Verizon guys having to put up with the crappy Verizon/LG OS?

I have on in my hand, got it this morning. 434.00 and a rbate coming of 100. Just another razr. I like it though.

And of course this comes out two months after I pick up the Razr v3a from Alltel.

I like the e815, with the exception of the charger connection. I tried the v3a, buttons were hard to use, reception wasn't as good. I'm carrying the motoq right now, it seems pretty good, but the external noise rejection isn't as good as the e815. The mic on the q seems a little too sensitive, picks up too much outside noise. Can you critically compare the 9m reception to the e815? As far as I'm concerned, the e815 would be almost perfect if it had decent charger contacts.

I wonder what's the camera like on this phone.

If I like the e815, will I like the 9m? I tried the v3a, buttons were hard to use, reception wasn't as good. Its amazing. I have been using it for almost a week and I love it!

Hey Don,
Sorry this reply is late... I went from the E815 to the Razr2 when it was released for Verizon. I love the Razr2 noise Cancelling it works great... Does not have Crystal Speak enabled (The incomming volume boost in noisy enviroments). The 2 Large Screen are of course wonderful. This charges via micro USB and that is just fine for me. Much better then the 815 that stopped charging after almost 2 years because of the contacts. The sound quality and signal are VERY good, the reception seems even a tad better then the 815 and that was amazing! The charge lasts days on standby and when in use I can get through my day with it. I have ordered the USB PC cable, and car charger now so I can charge it anywhere. and a clip on case (Clear) dont want to cover this beauty. ;) hope this helps someone anyway. Take care all... Blessed Be, Dragon
