iPhone price drop leads to sales boost
Shocking, we know. As if the price drops on the PlayStation 3 weren't evidence enough that we all like our gizmos a bit cheaper, a new report from Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster claims that iPhone sales skyrocketed shortly after the (hotly contested) price drops. According to his math, Apple needed to sell some 136,000 iPhones between September 5th (the day of the cuts) and September 9th (the day Apple claimed to have sold one million of its mobiles), which meant that 27,000 iPhones per day were getting unboxed in the five-day period. Comparatively, Munster approximated that Cupertino was unloading around 9,000 iPhones per day prior to the price cuts. 'Course, even Gene doubts that the recent sales surge will be able to hold steady, but we'd say the slashings have already had their desired effect.

$600 I would never pay for a phone.
$400 is still alot for a phone, especially if you are still forced into a 2 year contract, but it is a much more reasonable price.
Either way, I'm just getting the iPod Touch.

I really think that they'll be able to maintain those numbers for a bit longer now that the Dev Team has released the free unlocking tool. I'm still afraid that Apple has a 16gig, 3G iPhone ready to hit the channels pretty soon though. Oh well. Once they do then I'll just to unload mine on eBay stat. At least I only paid $400.00 for it and not $600.

Patiently waiting for the 16GB+3G version.
Or a WinMo phone on Sprint's network with 8GB built in storage, 3G and the real internet.

Still waiting for 3G and $199.

Still wont buy one. the battery issue, the other endless issues, no 3g, and the fact that they make you get a data plan and special sim to get it to work. if I could just buy the damn thing like every other phone and put in my sim without changing my plan. maybe.

You can if you get it unlocked and use it on T-Mobile.
