CNN re-confirms iPhoneSIMfree's iPhone SIM unlock hack
Independent verification of seemingly dubious claims makes the world go 'round, which is why we're a little thankful the iPhoneSIMfree crew has deigned CNN worthy of having the second shot at verifying their iPhone SIM unlock software. We know it won't quiet all the conspiracy theorists out there, but their news wire reads as follows:Los Angeles software consultant Brett Schulte, who is not affiliated with the developers, demonstrated the software for CNN Friday evening. An iPhone that had the new software appeared to work on the T-Mobile system just seconds after Schulte replaced the AT&T SIM card with a T-Mobile SIM card.
We followed up with Brett, a consultant with CNN, and he confirmed the iPhoneSIMfree unlocked his iPhone as well -- we also really wanted to ask about getting in touch with Ted Turner for a summer internship, but we got the vibe that it'd be a no-go. Now, if only iPhoneSIMfree would release that product of theirs to the public -- perhaps that might land along side the CNN story they're gunning for?

Looks like Engadget Mobile has become Engadget iPhone :)

You beat me to that comment, I was just about to say the same thing.
Wanted to check my browser and make sure I hadn't arrived at engadgetiphone.com by mistake. Honestly, is the iPhone really that popular in the states (i'm from Canada), or does Jobs own a controlling share in all things engadget?
BTW, the HTC Kaiser will be out soon, cop that one, and laugh at all the people using it's half retarded brother the iPhone :P

oh my god, do you not have anything better to do than to whine? For a lot of people this is important information, so if it doesn't retain to you, SKIP IT AND GO ON!!!
Do you think saying "oh is Engadget owned by Apple now???" and such comments is going to make Engadget stop posting about Apple products? No, it isn't, so piss off.

hmmm im pretty sure youre upset because you can not afford an iPhone, unlike me, a 16 year old.
saddening

I think you mean "CNN confirms" not "CNN re-confirms". Re-confirming implies that CNN somehow confirmed it themselves twice.
I have to get back to the pedantry competition now, Bye.

Actually GoodWill, if you had read my post, I will be buying the HTC Kaiser when released, which is nearly twice the price of an iPhone.
And I am not mad at all, just frustrated and a little jealous that everybody is enjoying their iPhone's, and I am still awaiting the delivery of my dream device.
And to Derek, my comments were of a satirical nature, not meant to upset you. Be easy guy.

blah blah blah.
lets face it.
its a sexy device. But in the end, we're all bitches owned by corporate assholes. hey, we buy their products, we make them run and we make them happy.
so... whats the point of bitching and whining?
i love my iPhone (even though its still locked). if you dont like the damn phone, move on with your life and quit talking garbage about it. your stupidity and whining isnt getting you anything more than hatred from so-called apple(fan)boys.

Can we have suggestions as to what Engadget should b writing about? And just make sure its something good enough to draw attention, etc.
How silly can u people b to not understand y a company like engadget MUST do what they have to to please US!!!!
Go buy a nokia N95, Kaiser, Prada, or whatever gadget tickles your fancy! But rest assured that u can NEVER, NEVER, NEVER change how we feell about our (locked) iPhone!!!!
