Bell reels in HTC 5800
Canada and the US regionals are now officially pwning Sprint and Verizon on this one. Bell becomes the latest carrier to offer the Windows Mobile 2006-based QWERTY slider -- Libra -- as the HTC 5800, offering EV-DO, a 2 megapixel cam, stereo Bluetooth, tethering capability, and microSD expansion. Come on Verizon, we're getting impatient! Grab it now north of the border for a nice, round $149.95 CAD (about $141) on a three-year agreement.

I've exhausted my energy complaining about VZW's delay in releasing the 5800, 6800, & i760....it's beyond ridiculous.....

That's very ugly.

I wish Sprint would pick up the HTC S720. Quest has it and Verizon is getting it. Why are the big guys so slow in getting new phones out there??

Not so fast. Both Bell and Telus' CDMA version has been neutered: They killed the wifi and you are left having to use one of the most expensive data plans in the world. This is strictly for those with more money than brains.
Cody @ Sep 2nd 2007 10:40PM
You think Verizon is not going to kill the WiFi too?
Frank @ Sep 2nd 2007 3:09PM
Son of a... I have been waiting on this phone for over a freakin year. Do I need to move to Canada to get the damn thing?
adaminc @ Sep 9th 2007 1:09PM
This would be great if Canada actually had a decent dataplan, $100/month for 250mb + $3/mb afterwards is ridiculous.

Hehe, so true. The CRTC stated that Canada is one of the most competitve if not better then the rest of the world, as you can see, its total bullshit. Its ovious the CRTC is just another corrupted buissness Bureu. If you go to rogers website, you'll find a link at the bottom of the page convincing you to believe that we have fair competition amongst our wireless carriers..I not gonna comment on this one. True thing by the way about the "Being wealthy" part. Americans can get incredible data rates, cheap enough to actulay use them as, dare I say, replacment to WiFi..o.O Here in Canada, we might have interesting phones, though there are a few phones I would die for up here in Canada, No its not teh iPhone, as Rogers would probably ward off anyone that was actulay willing to buy one with there unheard of data and voice pricing $25CAD/US for a misley 4MB, thats it. Oh, you'll also get screwed 75% less value out of the same data plans in Canada for other mobile devices if you buy a Blackberry. Unbelievable..
Paris Procopis @ Sep 13th 2007 9:23PM
Is there an actual release date for verizon?
Mike @ Oct 13th 2007 12:55AM
