The camera BETTER be at least 1.3mp, though.

--------------

I love Windows Mobile, but I think the OS might be a little complicated for its target audience. I mean, from the form factor, I'm guessin' this is aimed at tweens. If you look at popular tween devices--the enV, the V, the Sidekick line--you see they have simple OS's with QWERTY keypads. I wonder if Windows will beneficially or deleteriously affect the phone's performance. But, then again, it may not, the Dash has been very successful in this age group. Only time will tell.

Also, if this beast is sportin' WM6, you think they'll finally launch the updates for the phones to be updated, by then?

derX

Comments on

I agree. The only turnoff for me is that it is WM6. It's either that or some totally new, barely supported, completely closed, proprietary OS (Helio, anyone?). In that case, I'll take WM6 since there are at least a million apps and hacks for it.

frank

Comments on

I wish it had a similar OS as the Helio Ocean. That UI looked so much smoother then anything WM can do. Still, being a Canadian and having to search for many moons for a Sidekick replacement...this may just be it.

Elias C.

Comments on

I actually HAD a Helio Ocean, and while it was one sweet piece of hardware, the OS just ruined it for me. After enjoying my Sidekick for years, there's no way I could see using an internet phone like the Ocean that can't multitask. I returned it in a week. So to me WM6 on an Ocean-style device sounds pretty neat. (Meanwhile, I'm back with my Sidekick.)

Goodman

Comments on

This model is actually the Pantech C810 & At&t will be marketing it as the Mustang,no code name but just like the Samsung BlackJack is really the SGH-I607,so that's the american cellular industry newest thing, anyway visited a local At&t store today and found out from an associate that this phone will launch early sept, around the 14th...seen a advertisemet spread for the C810/Mustang and I must say pantech is slowly beginning to make a name for itself;first the ocean & now the mustang...SWEET!

Mr.Tecjunke

Comments on

Mustang is by far the most ridiculous name I have heard...especially for a phone.

Elias C.

Comments on

Is this running professional or wm6 standard?

Spencer

Comments on

All I can say is WOW... I am lucky enough to get to try one of these out! The back of the phone is the battery, not a cover and a battery, the model printed is Mustang (C810) Test Sample.

I was using a Cingular 3125, by HTC, which has completely disintegrated :( and this phone blows it out of the water. I had also used a Cingular 8125 (by HTC) for a while, but it was really a BRICK, just too big to carry around. The Pantech C810 is the same size as my Cingular 3125 closed, (the 3125 is very similar in size to a Motorola Razr) but I get the QWRTY key board that I lost when I downsized from the 8125.

The 3G data in it is much faster than GPRS or EDGE; I downloaded several megs worth of email in just a couple of minutes. On the 3125, I would have started the process and walked away for it to complete.

I liked Windows Mobile already, so the new version 6 is a plus for me, the interface is a little different so I am not sure if there is a professional or standard or how to tell. I did notice in a menu there is a windows update option, but under risk of a beating, I could not make any changes to the phone. (I will wipe the email)

When this hits retail, and it is not online yet, I want to buy one!!!

Neely1967
