As
expected, Verizon and Sprint have given Motorola a venue for its latest and greatest hardware today, releasing the
Q9m Windows Mobile smartphone and
RAZR 2 V9m flip respectively. Though the media centric Q9m's $350 price on a two-year contract ain't exactly pocket change, it's interesting to note that it whittles right down to a more manageable $250 after rebate -- a mere $20 more than you'll pay for an old school
Q Black. Meanwhile, minions from the other side of the CDMA camp (yes, we mean Sprint) have prepped the V9m for launch today at the same $250 price point after rebate, making it the first of
several US carriers committed to a RAZR 2 launch to actually get it out of the door. If everything goes the way we expect it to, both of these devices will land on the other carrier in the next few weeks, so the "grass is greener on the other side" effect should be kept to a bare minimum here.

The Q9m is actually 350 plus 100 off for Advanced Device Promotion. Then there is another 50 MIR taking the price to 200 dollars, not the 250 mentioned above.

Where's the 9h? Does anyone know if MiniSD wireless will work in these Q's since they didn't work in the other Q's. I'd rather have the 9h which got a decent review from MobilBurn. They believe the Blackjack is just as good as the 9h so I wonder if they'll give this 9m a less than favorable review because of the seriously outdated 1.3mp on this phone. Why did Verizon bother with this? Bring a phone with at least 2.0mp and WiFi - I see the roadmap so XV6800 looks good.

Wow,Ithink the Sprint version is better.

Unfortunately, the XV6800 seems to be MONTHS away :(

Sprint is probably getting the Q9c (maybe the m but I doubt it), no idea when. VZW will also be getting the Q9c which from what I hear is more business-centric, no idea what will be the difference from the two. So that means more than like there will be no difference from the versions Sprint and VZW carry.
And don't lose hope on the xv6800 just yet. October at the LATEST. Thing better have Rev A making us wait thing long though.

The Q9m will support removable wifi. My only confirmation of this is I have read it on the comparison sheets we received. Someone should give it a try to confirm.

Verizon will have the RAZR2 on 8/29 for internet and 9/4 for stores.

You can use the SpecTec WiFi cards with the Q9m.
