Verizon releases retro-tastic CDM-8905
Anyone yearning to relive the glory days of 2004 need look no further than Verizon's "new" CDM-8905, a flip with pretty much nothing to offer but a low price. The UTStarcom-sourced piece delivers cute little 128 x 128 internal color and monochrome external displays, speakerphone, vibrating alert, and that's about it. Really, one need look no further than the aerial antenna to understand what this phone's all about. Who knows, maybe it has terrific reception? Grab it now for $20 on a two-year contract.

lmao it seems sort of rediculous to charge 20 bucks for this phone with a two year contract... You go into best buy you can get a better phone for free, or a RAZR for 19.99...

I actually agree. I don't know who VZW is kidding, that phone should be free with 2 yr contract and not a penny more.

$20 huh? i cant believe they are selling it full retail and requiring a 2 yr contract with it.. haha
I hope this junk phone is indirect only and last 4 months in the field

20 dollars for that piece of junk they should be giving you 20 dollars to take it with a 2yr contract.

this is why i hate verizon
elgee02 @ Aug 16th 2007 11:59PM
Seriously dude... you must hate every single carrier then. Like VZW is the only carrier to release crappy low end phones.

Might be a good option for the blind...

Nah, even the blind would feel that ugly nubby antenna and throw it in disgust.

I've been using a bargain-barrel Motorola v276 from Verizon for the past two years. It's one of the last ones they offered with Tri-band analog roam. It has basically no features, and is butt ugly. Fortunately, it gets reception anywhere. I did a cross-country drive from Chicago to Phoenix, and there was consistent signal throughout.
What's the use of having a fancy V-CAST, mp3 player, tv-watching, web-surfing, digital camera, video phone when you can't make a phone call? (BTW, my other phone is a Blackjack.)

i am all for cameraless, btless, vcastless, mp3less phones. but, it is no excuse not to at least have some design go into the phone. this is absolutely a horrible release for verizon. i miss my pebl. sigh.
