SMS Technology shipping the M500 watch phone on August 31st?
We'll admit, there's a few sects who've already crossed SMS Technology's M500 watch phone off as vaporware in its finest form, but apparently, the firm is finally coming through on its most recent declaration. Yep, those wearable phones the company has been promising all this time are finally shipping soon, at least, we think. According to the company, "the final version of the M500 production model has been given full clearance to be supplied with full metal strap bracelets," and it sounds like deliveries should begin within a month. Furthermore, the final production model sports a longer stylus, a battery upgrade, and a few software tweaks including support for POP3 email and IM. Hang tight, the "global retail launch" is slated for September 10th, with the keyword here being "slated."[Via PMPToday]

It isn't vaporware after all since I received it 5 weeks ago, I must be one of the first iordered it in 2006 and finally after 10 months of waiting i got him, after a few bugs which the guys from sms sorted out for me right away, i have to say, it is an stunning device, it is amazing how these guys managed to stuff all these features in such small device, the pairing, talking by bluetooth is outstanding, talking handsfree, dick tracey style is good but needs approvement which according by sms has been done already ,i will get a softwareupdate later this week, if you want to show of you definetely have to get one

How can they sell a quad band unit when they, SMS, have only received FCC approval for triband?????

a new metal strap, that mena we get that or will we get the leather pictures one.
Also anyone any idea why i am not on the customer list even though ordered and paid for?

I'm curious about the same thing. I called in my order, as I wanted the metal band, and although I don't see my self on the customer list, nor my phone order shown under my login info... I was told it will ship on the 31st. I'm going to just call and call until I get tracking info so I know when to expect it and (if nothing)... call some more.
Those videos on Youtube really make me wonder. I mean, it would take some serious time and effort to fake the videos, why would someone go through that trouble? I've collected the three I found, on my blog. cypher-sec.org Like I mentioned in another posting on engadget

I had purchased a laser keyboard from i-tech and the same thing happened, it took nearly a year and a half to get, but, I finally got it. Granted I don't want to wait that long for it, at least it came. :)

i find it strange,that the mymobilewatch web site is saying that its online shop has closed as from the 12th sept,and today 17th sept the BUY IT NOW has appeared again on the site,i'm wondering if anyone who has in fact paid for one of these cell watches,has in fact received one as yet.might be good to set up a poll of who has paid and got one ,or who has paid and has'nt got one

OK everyone... http://www.m500.org is up and running with a forum that is not closed (cough cough mymobilewatch). ;) It should help you keep up to date with this awesome product!
Please run through things, sign up for the BB, and let me know how things feel work. I've run many a server in the past and still do, but, strangely enough, I've never run a forum. So, this should be fun. :) Feel free to start things off by adding what we've discussed if you so choose.
If you feel there should be a category in the forum, let me know. There is a contact page that goes to me on the site. :)

Anything that has to do with SMS Tech selling the mobile watch M300, M500 or anything else in the future is false as they charge your crdit card and never deliver on the goods. This company is stealing from everyone and you should know they'll do the same to you.
