iPhones automatically updated with "Send to Web Gallery" feature
At some point during the Jobsters lenghty unveiling of multifarious technologies today, iPhones across the nation were silently rejiggered (presumably by magical Apple wood-sprites) to allow for use of the just announced "Send to Web Gallery" feature. Whether this was a timed event scheduled into the new 1.0.1 update or an over-the-air transmission from Apple remains to be seen, but it is definitely true that the "fully integrated" web gallery upload option which Mr. Jobs demonstrated at today's press conference is currently available for use on your iPhone. I don't see it either, but I don't have a .Mac account. My guess is that's what enabling the feature.

Is this Apple's vain attempt to compensate for lack of MMS?!
Please STOP with random iUpdates every time Jobs takes an iDump, sends an iSMS (but not an iMMS of course), eats at iMcDonald's, or does any other useless function that is not worth the disgusting degree of over-coverage given.
My WinMo6 device has a "send to my space" link in the "pictures and videos" app, and does so for free.
Let me know when the Picsel browser is available for public comsuption, and until then, shut the iPhuck up.

Also, if you don't want to hear about the iPhone, and you're at least smart enough to post messages, you would have by now looked up instructions on how not to have to view iPhone-related posts--because it is possible.
I'm writing this because no one else will probably take the time or have the patience to post it for the millionth time.
Those of us who use WinMo already know how much its devices pwn the iPhone, but your post serves no purpose but to continue the lame fanboy/antifanboy war.
Don't blame Engadget for posting the news. Blame yourself for not being able to argue effectively enough that you don't have to curse out the messenger.

Um, where did you take the time to explain how again? There is no iPhone "tag" for the rss feeds, only an Apple tag. If you're referring to a way to ignore viewing iPhone posts via web browser, not rss reader, by all means - please enlighten me.

Gbot, two things become instantly apparent about you:
1.You like taking it in the behind (and we all know what word I substitute that for). Again. And again.
2.You're ability to browse the internet would be laughed at by either a 6 year old with dyslexia or a 90 year old with arthritis. If you are not capable of filtering your RSS feeds, or for that matter, just do not know how to look for news you find useful - quit using the internet.
If the iPhone news does not interest you, I suggest you stop using up your-oh-so-valuable time to comment on it.

If the iPhone was gaining functionality that was a step above the competition (or the competition 2 years ago), then it'd be nice to read about in between every single non-iPhone post. But since it's always something about adding ringtones, adding ringtones easier, or adding any of the other missing features, these mobile news sites get really boring really fast.

Now all Apple needs to do is lock down photo sync (so you can't) then force us to have a .Mac account @ $99/year and then charge us 25 cents each to send our pictures to the web gallery and they'll be just like Verizon! ;-)

Is this "5 years ahead of the competition" as you promised in the key note in the beginning of this year?
Please check the photo blogging feature on the Sony K800 from mid 2006. You are getting closer with "Send to Web Gallery" but you still have to add automatic registration and a proper camera with 3.2 Mpixel resolution and a xenon flash plus autofocus. Oh yeah, and the K800 doesn't crash either.

I'm sure when Jobs said it would be 5 years ahead of the competition, he meant it from 5 years from when he conceived the ideal of the iPhone itself.
BTW I've the N95 and E90, and both triumph the iPhone!

honestly, I apologize for my previous comments, but for reals, how about every post about a "new" iPhone feature gets a disclaimer about whether or not other competitors' products offer the same feature?
I mean, if it's really the JesusPhone, it should have no problem holding up to our scrutiny, right?
