iPhone software: the community hacks, Apple improves

I do have to say, with all the cons to buying the iPhone (price, 3G, email, network), this extremely rapid software development is a huge Pro. When was the last time one of the major network providers (I'm looking at you Verizon) or phone manufactures worked this hard to fix bugs and offer new features. My wife and I are looking for two PDA's to help organize our lives, and I think the iPhone is the best bet so far.
