Same here... and I realized it had nothing to do with my using an iPod dock connector. After I *THOUGHT* everything was in tip-top shape, after it said it had activated with AT&T, I turned it on later and I was presented with the "Please Activate iPhone". Now, every time I plug it into my Mac (without the iPod dock, of course) it just beeps repeatedly, doesn't show up in iTunes, and says "sync in progress". After force restarting it several times, I'm able to use it, though it still beeps repeatedly when I plug it in.
I'm admittedly an iPhone fanboy... waited in line for 4 hours to get this puppy on release day and now I'm quite embarrassed and annoyed.
