BlueAnt launches voice isolating Z9 Bluetooth headset
It sure took long enough, but at long last BlueAnt is finally releasing its Z9 Bluetooth headset. The final version weighs in at 0.35-ounces, measures 1.5-inches in length, boasts a glossy, translucent finish, and most importantly, touts a two-level approach to noise cancellation. The firm's patented Voice Isolation technology "separates the voice signal from all background noise" in order to nix surrounding wind and ambient chatter from conversations, and can be utilized in Standard or Max modes depending on how raucous things are around you. Notably, the headset also sports dual microphones, supports on-the-fly device switching, lasts through 5.5-hours of yapping, and even offers upgradeable firmware via USB. So, for those who have managed to hold off till now, the Z9 can finally wrap itself around your ear for $99.95.

I wonder how this will stack up against the Jawbone

I've got a jawbone... and the _only_ thing that i don't like about it is using it in the wind. It is horrible.
I wonder if BlueAnt has solved the wind problem.

::Sigh:: I just don't see 2 mic's doing what it needs to, to eliminate wind noise.
As a convertible owner, I'm in desperate need of a good headset.
I was realy excited about the bone conduction bluetooth headset that was supposed to come out last christmas at radioshack, but it never came and nothing has been said since.
So basically this is just the same tech as the jawbone?
bah :(
If I can get and return one without a restocking fee maybe I'll give it a try.

I tried the jawbone and while the noise canceling technonolgy was great (we tested it against a lawn mower) it was just too damn big and uncomfortable. Anyone know more about this headset compared to the jawbone?

This is not the same tech as the Jawbone. There's no mention of a vibration sensor that rests on the cheek with this nice lookin' headset.
I love my Jawbone. The person on the phone with me has no clue when I flush the toilet! It is un-usable in even mild wind. I'd love to hear a comparison between the two.
I think the only wind solution would be to put a big foam-rubber ball over the mic of a given headset.

I've been looking for a bluetooth headset for a while, haven't bought one yet. Yesterday I came across the Scala 500, by cardo wireless which boasts usability while biking is heavy wind ... The 500 was their original bluetooth model, and a few more have come out since then ... but the 500 is the only one that mentions wind canceling.
