Bell Canada releases HTC 6800

Bell Canada has finally shipped HTC's beastiest, beast as the HTC 6800. This is, of course, the same goods shipped by both Sprint (branded as Mogul), Telus (as P4000), and the oft-promised Verizon VX6800, but unlike Telus, it rocks WIndows Mobile 6, not 5. This'll go out the door from a Bell shop for as little as CAN $199 -- that is, if you're crazy enough to commit for 3 years -- with a minimum monthly package purchase. This is hands-down Bell's best Pocket PC offering, so if you've been dawdling and contemplating stepping up to Windows Mobile, now's the time.

Look ma: a d-pad that's not COMPLETE CRAP like the one on the P4000 and Mogul. See? It can be done!

Nice Job Verizon.........are you just trying to be the last one to release this phone?
Patmos @ Jul 20th 2007 10:11PM
This is ridiculous. Verizon you guys are really looking pathetic.

Gah! I can't take it any more I have been waiting all year for these cool phones promised by verizon. I can't wait any longer. Verizon better get its act together or I am just going to switch to sprint.

I noticed the D-Pad difference too. I wonder what else changed? The Mogul felt really cheap in my hand, perhaps the other versions of the 6800 do not?
I hate that they excluded the HTC T9 Input option, I love T9... but I think I can load it up from a CAB once my small carrier finally gets the 6800.

I'm pretty sure the one verizon is coming out with is the XV6800, not VX6800(that would be LG then)...the current one is XV6700

I heard this morning (from an Alltel rep who admins our company account) that these puppies are headed for Alltel in about 3 weeks! Also, the Blackberry 8800's are coming out in late August. She also said that there are about 3-4 new Express/USB/PCMCIA cards coming out before September too! Looks like it's going to be a big month for us Alltel people! Gotta love cheap EV-DO.

The funny thing is I just bought a Telus P4000 two days ago and I'm going to return it and go with Bell. :)

Can the Bell HTC 6800 be purchased without a rate plan (at $599 CDN) and hooked up to a Verizon plan?

Please could someone who owns a BellMobility HTC 6800 look at the CPU info, and let me know what CPU it's running on?
Setting-->System tab-->Device Information-->Hardware tab.
Thx in advance

Will we be able to use it's Wi-Fi to do "Skype call" or any other Voip like it?
And does it have full internet access when using it's Wi-Fi, like web browsing, etc.?
If not I'll keep my N800 and my good'ol cellphone for calls.
