Hold tight,
700p faithful -- your replacement's on its way. This here is a Verizon-branded
Palm Treo 755p, marking one of the rare occasions when Sprint has beat its CDMA rival to the Palm punch
by a wide margin. The biggest draw here over its predecessor might be the internal antenna, but hey, for a platform that can be described as "mature" at best (and "older than dirt" at worst), we'll take what we can get! From the looks of it, this thing's pretty much ready to roll; heck, if the original
launch date rumors hold up, we may even see it before the month's out.

Ugh! A keyboard on the screen? Who on earth would want that? That would be impossible to use! I can't believe a keyboard on a screen would have any redeeming value at all! ;-)
Sal Gallegos @ Nov 20th 2007 10:46PM
You can also use the keyboard number s to dial. BTW. What is wrong with the keyboard on the screen? It has worked well for me on the 700p. I don't understand you folks. All I hear is it's too bulky. Screen is too small. Well, you cant have all the bells and whistles without adding bulk. So the keyboard on the screen is better than adding a keypad on where, the back of the phone?

Well from what it seems is that we love to make you guys wait and wait and wait... and 3 months later, wait and wait and wait. And when we finally do release it, it BLOWS your mind at how bad it actually is. Its a shame really, but thats why I closed my concession account here and snagged a free E62 3 months ago. And as far as a release for this, no word to the reps yet so look for august for this, and september for I760.
brad @ Jul 19th 2007 10:56AM
way to go verizon, your only 6 months behind the industry
Nathan @ Jul 19th 2007 11:03AM
Does anyone think the date on the front of the device (1/12/08) has anything to do with the release date? I certainly hope not b/c I can't wait that long.
Ardy @ Jul 19th 2007 12:38PM
GSM GSM GSM we need 755p on AT&T.
Donald @ Jul 19th 2007 3:23PM
It's called the 750 and has been on at&t since January.
Ardy @ Jul 19th 2007 3:37PM
Yes Donald, but it's a windows version, 755p is a Palm version which at&t doesn't provide yet!
IsLNdbOi @ Jul 20th 2007 7:45PM
Wouldn't that be the Treo 680?
Ardy @ Jul 21st 2007 1:56PM
No, the 680 is EDGE/GPRS phone, the 755 is 3G (UMTS).
UDub9 @ Jul 19th 2007 1:18PM
Why?
Stonesand @ Jul 19th 2007 1:31PM
Yay! But why so late? Why no new features? Why are the smartphone choices on Verizon so awful?
joe hobson @ Jul 24th 2007 1:33AM
you nailed it: why are all of Verizon's smartphone choices so lame?!?
too late for me. i dropped my Verizon Treo for an iPhone, even though i think AT&T is the devil. i guess phone choice trumps network excellence for me. for now.
I.P. Freely @ Jul 19th 2007 1:47PM
i760? Please? Pretty please?
cityslicka @ Jul 21st 2007 4:31PM
just fyi ardy, the palm OS is not compatibile with a GSM 3G network, therefore, no broadband palm OS phones for AT&T...
