If you're enjoying that new
iPhone but realize its battery meter is off the mark consistently, you're not alone. Apparently, the OS X version used in the first-generation iPhone has a bug wherein it is not indicating a full battery charge on the main display. Apple PR says that if you charge your battery for the requested time (we think four hours is sufficient), it will be full -- although the indicator may not show that. According to Apple, a forthcoming
software fix is expected to fix this issue, although no street date has been announced.

My iPhone battery indicator will start to look low, so I'll charge it. But then I get a '20% charge remaining' alert, even when plugged in! Still I loves me my iPhone :)

But I thought the iPhone was perfect?

does anyone else think that its quite the rip off how AT&T is making you pay for 2 days of service?
or is it just me?

@goodwill8675:
Did they also nail you on the text messaging? On my account they prorated the number of allowed text messages for those two days and nailed me on overage charges.

I had issues with my battery life and Apple owned up to the problem and immediately gave me a brand new iPhone. My battery wasn't fully charging so this helped out a lot.
Thanks again Apple!

I just purchased my iPhone last night and am experiencing that issue, how did you go about getting the exchange done?

If this is true....how come nothing "offical" is stated on Apple's own website?
I've had no issues with my battery not showing a full charge.

My iphone which I really like has had a number of issues with it. It has dailed 3 different phone numbers on it's own and I have concrete evidence to back this up. Also, as of today 07/31/07 my iphone is not working at all. Called Apple service and they confirmed that my battery was HOT and needed to be replaced. Will Air Ship another one to me in 1 day so I look forward to seeing how all of this will play out. I can only tell you that the iphone was VERY HOT
