Unboxing the Toshiba Portege G900
What would you give for a WM6 QWERTY with a 3-inch screen touting an 800 x 480 pixel resolution? Well, reader Kim Nyberg forked over a €635/$860 premium to Expansys for the Toshiba Portege G900 and has the unboxing pics to prove it. And you thought $599 was expensive. Oh, did we mention it's tri-band HSDPA with WiFi?

Finally, we start seeing 800 pixel width displays! I own an iphone .. I really don't think this toshiba will be beating the iphone on user experience and responsiveness. Navigating a small phone without a touchscreen must be a real pain.
Of course let the review make the determination.

@Johan S, are you trying to say the G900 doesn't have a touch screen? If you are, then you're wrong because it does sport a touch screen. You may be thinking of the G500 (smaller, 9 key, but also a nice phone, they just need to put WM6 on it).

Might be quad-band GSM but it is tri-band UMTS/HSDPA.

This is basically mfgd by HTC/Audiovox 6700, same everything...and when hooked to VZ 3g network, works really well for about everything, MS os..Iphone probably does music as added feature but the above setup is about as good as it gets for making money & tethering, when needed...

This is not an HTC-sourced device. Sorry. Better screen than the 6700 (800x400 vs 320x240), too. The 6700 is an awesome phone (I own one with Sprint) but I really want VGA or WVGA.

Yeah that Verizon GSM network really is awesome.

It's unlocked, too.. cheaper than iphone in that respect.
but then again, it's a smarphone so it beats iphone user experience by miles in that respect.
also in respect if you want stereo bt headsets. or proper bt at all. and mp3 ringtones.

i think that i would pay the extra cash to get this. My friend has the iphone and i really cant use the keyboard(thumbs too big) so i need a "real" one. I have a Q though and i really dont think that i need to spend this much on a phone.
