HTC P4550 "Kaiser" reviewed
Paul from MoDaCo has our envy today, having recently taken possession of HTC's pièce de résistance -- the HTC "Kaiser" -- which looks to make a self-branded debut bearing the model number P4550. As he points out, HTC left virtually nothing out of the P4550 as Windows Mobile-based QWERTY sliders go; the 256MB of onboard Flash, 128MB of RAM, 3 megapixel cam, HSUPA, and trick flip-up display all set new marks for lustworthiness in the category. What's more, the device is said to be really snappy with Windows Mobile 6 and a 400MHz Qualcomm MSM7200 core, picture quality from the camera is superb, and voice quality is apparently top notch. The conclusion? "It's quite simply awesome." Too bad it's also quite simply not available yet.

Kaiser > iPhone
hopefully the Kaiser won't have such a bloated pricetag. Any idea about carrier possibilities?

Sorry but I think is going to be as expensive if not more. I hear about 500.
Nice phone shame about the O/S. I wonder if HTC can come up with the goods with there new O/S ?

Will this phone banned because of the Qualcomm chip it used?
Brian @ Jul 1st 2007 6:36PM
Not in the UK it won't..... or 90% of the rest of the world....
Mark @ Jul 1st 2007 7:47PM
No, this phone shouldn't be banned. There are actually a good amount of people who already have this phone.
Rumors are that it will go to AT&T.
My biggest issue about this phone is that is weighs 192 grams, which is pretty heavy. Heavier then the TyTN/8525 by about 20 grams. Ill stick with my HTC Trinity.

I'm not afraid of a little weight if it includes a nice featureset. I thought this phone was a touchscreen? That's what pdadb.net is reporting anyway.
carlo @ Jul 1st 2007 10:11PM
it's touchscreen. i hope it doesn't have touchFLO though, I'm not really a big fan of it.

Why not VGA? too much to ask for?

This is a nice phone. the specs are off the charts. the phone would end up being cheaper with a contract.iam still shock at the price people are paying for the iphone. not saying its not a great phone. if you want to read a review click on the image above, its the best review you would get. shame it dosn't have a 3.5mm jack. it would of been perfect. then again, there will never be a perfect phone, if there was, why would we get a new phone.
SteVie @ Jul 6th 2007 9:17PM
oh just seen the t mobile Germany version of this phone. why change the colour. it was fine as it was. dont fix something thats not broken!!
(actually the colours not bad, just prefer the dark metallic grey)
l8on @ Jul 11th 2007 9:13PM
the Kaiser looks to be a great phone but how long will it take to be picked up by AT&T? IF its going to happen.. I think I'll just pick up the 8525..
newark @ Jul 16th 2007 10:26PM

The P3600 already has a 400 MHz processor and is painfully slow and it freezes and needs resetting most days. On paper the specifications are great, but certainly in my experience even the top end phones dont work. I would need a lot of convincing to think about another HTC phone.

If I were to purchase the HTC KAISER now from someone who already has it, will it work in the US?
