By 10:10AM local time -- just 10 minutes after opening -- this was the scene at Apple's downtown San Francisco outpost. You know, hundreds of iPhone owners waking up this morning and saying to themselves "zomg I need accessories" or "zomg this thing sucks, I'm returning it." Think of it as the "day after Christmas" effect.

Or maybe...."I want to get one for myself."

If Id got one of those things ,when I woke up the following morning Id be thinking about the bill every month from the network (are people mad paying that much, the networks are just laughing at us). Also probably trying to convince myself that the Internet works really well over mobile networks (naturally it really, really doesnt). Id be pleased for a while, then the 6gen iPod comes out with a massive memory and just the really cool stuff on its multi touch surface. At this point I think, how many months did I sign up for this phone, ow dear the iPod looks better, all I really wanted was a new iPod. Seriously 8 gig on the iPhone, what are people thinking. Everybody will want one, people will stampede to get one, muggings will go up, networks will get richer and richer from a device 5 years ahead of their technology. Ow yes we can watch really funny fools on YouTube, how I laugh; when the video final, finally downloads it doesnt seem quite so funny.

iPhone customers aren't nerds; nerds are smart.

I don't see any iPhone bags with those folks in line. Maybe they are hiding it because they are so embarassed they bought one?

I guess this really is the second coming. Hey! I saw those people on the line the day before. Maybe they're all getting a second iPhone. Those little kids were able to convince their parents that all the other kids on the block had an iPhone, and they didn't want to feel left out. Or not.
