So far, the throngs of
iPhone-demanding humanity beating on the glass shells of Apple Stores across the globe haven't materialized -- at least not here in Apple's backyard. At this point, the line consists of about one woman, four gentlemen, and three clowns. For whatever reason, we were expecting more (way more) people and generally fewer clowns. Are the contract requirements and price keeping the buying public at bay? We'll know tomorrow! Stay tuned for more updates live from the San Francisco outpost.

Are we going to see sliding prices for AAPL tomorrow when investors take note of the lack of crowds clamoring for the iPhone?

I can't wait to see how it goes. Either way, it's going to be HILARIOUS. I'm kinda hoping for a total dud... just out of morbid curio'.

Is there any chance this could be the end of apple or am I just being optimistic? Seriously though, should I buy party hats and by party hats I mean hookers.

Perhaps there aren't many people waiting because the people who can afford it actually have jobs?
RF9 @ Jun 29th 2007 12:18AM
Seriously there's no reason to wait in line. I bet by 3pm there will be a line. People just aren't gullible enough to camp out for something that isn't in short supply.
The only reason to camp is if there are far too few to go around, and they expect to have enough for a majority of the people that want one.
Or maybe a lot of people aren't stupid enough to buy it on day 1, and they're going to wait and see for a few days first.
They will sell a lot of them, they will sell out, but a most people will get one.
