...you go home with your new iphone. ...you try to activate. your credit is declined or you need a deposit. ...you dont have money for a deposit. ...you unplug your iphone and take it back to the store ...are they going to charge you 10% for returning it!?!?!? thats not your fault that their stupid system has you taking your phone home before you even know if your credit will be approved!!!!
If you are unsure about your credit, you can have a credit check done at the AT&T store before you take it home. They will give you a pre-approved code you type in iTunes and everything will run smooth.
but what if you didnt anticipate a problem and want to return it after finding out you cant sign up or need a deposit? i dont think it would be right to charge someone 10% for returning it just because at&t wanted to make things run more smoothly in their stores by putting the activation work on the consumer
