Disney Mobile gets new Pantech handset
Not content to let the failure of ESPN Mobile and the recent bankruptcy of Amp'd Mobile affect it, fellow MVNO Disney Mobile has launched a new Pantech handset, model DM-P205. Disney Mobile has not been in the new lately (really, since launch in 2006), so the kid-friendly virtual carrier figured it had better release something to generate some news. Seriously, this entry-level Pantech unit with a 2004-era VGA digicam and Bluetooth should work for the target market Disney Mobile wants to recruit, but we're just wondering if the MVNO will be around post-2007.

I don't know where you guys got this information... but my store (T-Mobile/Sprint Dealer) became a Disney Mobile dealer in early november if I remember correctly... and I've had this phone for sale since then... The other two phones Disney has had are not only better but cheaper. This phone is complete crap. The only thing it has is a nice looking primary screen. The LG L200 has a 1.3 MP camera and bluetooth.... this has VGA camera and no bluetooth and cost my store $50 more than the LG. It was a ripoff.

I have six months left on a two year contract with this phone and can't find any replacement batteries except from Disney Mobile. If this wasn't bad enough they want $60 for their standard and $70 for their enhanced batteries. Can you spell ripoff?

I have six months left on a two year contract with this phone and I can't seem to find any replacement batteries anywhere except for DisneyMoblie.com. To make matters worse, they want $60 for their standard and $70 for their enhanced batteries. Can you spell RIPOFF? I guess Disney really wanted to capture this market.
