$40 seems to be the sweet spot for T-Mobile, seeing how the carrier just added a pair of plans to keep its 300 minute
myFaves plan company at that all-important price point. First up is a 1,000 minute plan (obviously not featuring myFaves) that features unlimited nights and weekends but no mobile-to-mobile calling. If anytime minutes are priority numero uno, though, you can forego the unlimited nights and weekends in exchange for an additional 500 anytime, bringing the total to 1,500. Additionally, the carrier added another plan another $20 up the food chain: a 1,000 anytime minute plan with myFaves, offering no nights/weekends or mobile-to-mobile, for $60.

i remember reading on here a few months ago something about how t-mobile was going to increase their MMS rates in june and how if they did we would be able to get out of our contracts because of it if we wanted...anyone knwo what i'm talking about and what, if anything, has happend?
SVergara @ Jun 11th 2007 1:43PM
MMS rates actually went down to $.15 per message, which is also the price that SMS went UP to: so, a flat messaging rate. As far as getting out of your contract, good luck with that.
Also for clarification, that $60 myFaves without nights/weekends/m2m is a family plan. Their individual $60 plan does indeed include nights and weekends.

"As far as getting out of your contract, good luck with that."
Not much luck involved - you call up, say there was a material change in the contract, and you are released without an ETF. Worked for me and many others.

Hmm, can you give me a few more details on getting out of the contract like that.
JayCaesar @ Jun 11th 2007 1:04PM
those plans suck
bessie31 @ Jun 11th 2007 2:48PM
what the heck are you talking about these plans suck? they are more than twice cheaper than the comparable thing at any other national carrier. you must be bitter about that sprint contract you are stuck in.
bessie31 @ Jun 11th 2007 2:48PM
dear engadgetmobile:
these aren't new plans they're just the normal plans discounted $10. it's a promotional thing t-mobile does every summer. it typically lasts 2-3 months. not to mention these have been available since june 1st... why are you reporting 11 day old non-news anyway??
JayCaesar @ Jun 11th 2007 3:17PM
yea 1250minutes night and weekends starting at 6pm unlimited data texts mobile to mobile picture mail for $50 bucks yea am sooo bitter please someone help me get out of this awful plan i got with sprint
MrLuna @ Jun 11th 2007 5:00PM
To Jay,
Unless you're on a grandfathered plan (which with sprint means the minute you upgrade you're screwed), then I'm calling you bluffer, liar, bullshitter. it'll cost you 60$ to get 900 mins wit n/ws with sprint, not to count the extra $10 you gotta pay for your-so-mentioned 6pm nights.
Even if you were in the zero plans, it'd still cost you over well over forty with the 6pm nights. TMob gives you 1000 n/ws for 40 (sprint gives you 900 n/ws for 60$, $20 extra).

this plan is better than Verizon Wireless. 1000 vs. 450 minutes. you choose. T-Mobile needs to have better phones, Verizon Wireless has all the cool phones.
elgee02 @ Jun 11th 2007 11:58PM
It's better for some... at least with Verizon Wireless you get unlimited IN calling, which for many people out there is quite beneficial.
JayCaesar @ Jun 12th 2007 3:05AM
to luna
why would i bluff??
my plan was originally 1250 minutes
unlimited nights and weekends starting at 7pm free pic mail/unlimited data roaming and mobile to mobile for $49.99 then they had a sero promotion for unlimited texts and i called them and they added it to my plan for FREE.... they moved my nights to 6 cause of retention for free as well i have no reason to lie my bill usually comes out to 57 dollars excluding taxes and the 7 dollars is cause of my insurance
stu @ Jun 17th 2007 9:27AM
hey jay. my name is stu and i reside in the bay area. i would much appreciate it if you would give me your tmobile number so i can call them and sign up for a the same plan you have and hopefully through retension they'll let me sign up with similar plan features for 50/month. thanks much!! -stu
