I've only seen the Verizon sneeks on the 6800. The link you provided was much more detailed. I'm really excited about the SMT5800, as it has the numeric keypad on the front. Last I heard, Verizon folks were still saying Q-2 -- times running out on that claim.

A buddy of mine was at the Sprint store yesterday and heard that Sprint's offering of the 6800 was delayed until September. He was bumming. Thanks again.

Digital Man

Comments on Verizon Wireless intros the G'zOne Type-S

does anybody know if this phone will work in Europe? Verizon phone are all unlocked, but will do you absolutely no good because they are not GSM/UMTS

Siemens mobile back in the day (before BenQ bought them and subsiquently went out of buisness) used to make some rugged waterproof GSM phones that were dual band for Europe only. I always wished they'd release a tri-band or quad band version of those to use here, but they never did.

I guess the tables have turned.

I personally wish every major phone manufacturer would offer a line of tough phones for those who need them.

But don't worry, other then being fugged the G'zOne type S is not much to envy.
