Pics of a pretty fake looking Sony Ericsson "P3i"
The temptation to flood the 'nets with fake imagery can be a strong one indeed. Maybe it's the fame, maybe it's the hope that a manufacturer will see the pictures and say "gee, we should be making this," maybe it's the desire to fleece enthusiasts. Remember that silly Ai fake from a while back? On that note, we present this here pic of what we're supposed to believe is an upcoming Sony Ericsson "P3i." To put it lightly, we're not so sure we buy it. For starters, the color scheme is hideous, the edges look really weird, and we're not sure Sony Ericsson would be interested in upstaging its freshly-announced flagship P1 so quickly -- especially with a model that seems no better at a glance. For what it's worth, though, the alleged device has a QVGA touchscreen display, 3.2 megapixel autofocus cam, WiFi, and triband GSM plus HSDPA. We'll believe this purple-keyed wonder when we hear it straight from the horse's mouth.

When did Sony fall off the wagon?? They used to be such innovators and their phones were so cool... but they are just lagging now.
Anyway, real or fake that thing is FUGLY.

I'm not sure about other manufacturers, but I know SE makes early dev units of their phones in funky colors mostly to destroy it's market appeal until it's at a production state. Take the "Sakura" for example, which eventually became W900i, so I wouldn't throw out the idea that this is nothing more than a very early dev unit whit the odd color scheme SE tends to throw out.

With that said, this is picture in particular does look like a fake to me.
