Guess now I know not to wait. For $150 I can get the better 3G 8525 (400Mhz!) w/ Cingular on Amazon. So I really don't get it. Can someone explain to me why anyone would get this Wing?

Todd

Comments on T-Mobile Wing hands-on

It's thinner than the Tytn (8525), and if you don't need the 3g speed or faster processor it's a good upgrade.

Unseen Llama

Comments on T-Mobile Wing hands-on

I don't get it either, nor would I buy it, being a customer for ANY GSM service! Honestly, this phone is only different in the fact that it's thinner than the MDA/8125 and has the no slip coating... and to be truthfull, I prefer my cell phone to be the size of the likes of the 02 XDAIIs, THAT was a nice phone. It felt comfortable in the hands & was actually viewable with the larger screen. If only HTC would make THAT model with the features of their TyTn but able to accomadate either a full size SD or Mini SD (for the large storage size)as well as using the regular headset connector as aopposed to the propriatory stuff comming out. Also, a 4 or 5 MP cam would be good as well as a higher processor & at least 512 megs of ram. Also FM/AM/radio TV (non subscription)or XM radio built in, (Yes there are those of us who still listen *COASTTOCOASTAM ROCKS!!!* LOL)then I'd be happy! The newer stuff they are comming up with just isn't up to snuff. The newest ones with the mini hard drives, I don't trust cause it includes movable parts that can be easily damaged if dropped. Hands down HTC is the best on the market, but they just arent up to snuff with what a PDA/Phone ought to be.

Bryan

Comments on T-Mobile Wing hands-on

my next phone is going to be of the htc variety, but not this phone, that's for sure. the phone is slow and i don't like it as much as other htc varieties for some reason.

KoozyK

Comments on T-Mobile Wing hands-on

I really like the design of this phone, it's quite sharp. But a bit pricey for what it is.
Im far more interested to see what T-Mob has in store for a replacement to the SDA. They're basically giving them away at this point (they were $150 a few days ago, now free after $50 rebate) so they're pricing them to clear out. I hope they have something as equally cool lined up as the SDA replacement, as it's a truly awesome phone.

henry

Comments on T-Mobile Wing hands-on

just got mines. but i'm replacing a nokia 6820. so far it looks great.

and at 300, its still cheaper than what i paid for my palm when it first showed up.

synwpn

Comments on T-Mobile Wing hands-on

Does T-Mobile let you use the WiFi at home or where-ever, or does it have to be one of their hot spots?

Brad Hyatt

Comments on T-Mobile Wing hands-on

The phone allows you to connect to any hotspot but if you want to get connected to a T-mobile Hotspot you have to either have the data plan (29.99 /mo) or a wifi account (10.00 /mo).

Greg

Comments on T-Mobile Wing hands-on

My brother uses his Wing with his wireless access point at home.
