T-Mobile Wing gets unboxed
MyMobile911 has somehow managed to acquire a "production package" of T-Mobile's upcoming Windows Mobile 6-equipped Wing, and perhaps the most interesting news here is that it is, in fact, called the "Wing." Previous reports had suggested that execs weren't happy with the name, but hey, they could call it "Poo" for all we care -- the fact that retail packaging is in the wild suggests that a release could very well be imminent. The box's contents turn out to be pretty standard fare: a charger, stereo headset, cables, software, and a handful of manuals, though one gem is the audio/charging dongle that appears to let you juice the battery and rock out at the same time. With the MDA axed from the lineup, T-Mobile's Pocket PC-less shelves are looking a wee bit bare; Wing, you can't possible get here soon enough.

How does the new Wing compare to the MDA in terms of size & weight? Also, how does the screen resolution compare to the Dash? I think this may be the new phone for me! Thanks for any info you can provide.

Disregard my previous comment - I just found the info on your HTC Herald post.

Just got off the phone with someone in Blackberry/SmartPhone Support and the official launch date in the T-Mobile system is the 22nd of the month with the phone being available online, for upgrade, in T-Mobile stores and authorized dealers who chose to carry the phone.
I am looking forward to this...was looking at the Dash to get WM6 but now that I know this will be released in the coming weeks I am going to wait for my upgrade!
By the way, it looks like the official name will be the T-Mobile Wing according to the rep.

I can verify Shane W.'s comment as being the same told to me by T-Mobile's Blackberry/MDA department.

Note to article writer: They might not be so happy with the name cause HTC will launch its HTC Wings in July. Just a hint ;)

I've used the Wing for about a week and needless to say I will be returning it and waiting for the xv6800 launch. Although the overal design seems fine, the hardware used is pretty weak. With only a 200 mhz processor and 64 mb of ram, I find applications slow with occasional lock-ups. And don't even think about running multiple apps. Could have been a nice phone if they would have given it a little more umff.
