i just recently bought the LG CU500v from a friend. I have tmobile service. How or where can i get the phone unlocked? i called the cingular customer service but they refused to help because i do not have an account with them.

I just got a new LG CU500v mobile (on the Cingular network) and it's 3G UMTS coverage is very spotty at my home in the Seattle area. I am wondering does anyone out there know how to force the mobile to select the GSM network instead of UMTS???

there's an engineering mode that will allow you to set it to "2G only". It is under "modem settings", go figure. It works tho!! I had exactly the same problem at my house.
