Windows Mobile 6 update for T-Mobile Dash leaked
Frankly we're a bit surprised it's taken as long as it has for the T-Mobile Dash Windows Mobile 6 upgrade to get leaked. Nothing much to see here if you're at all familiar with WM6 "Standard" (what we common folk are still calling Smartphone), but if you're not willing to brick-risk it, apparently the official update will hit the streets this Friday, the 4th.

WOW, just by looking at what Jamerican has posted this is going to be a huge improvement over the BETA that was leaked a while ago. I can't wait to get this on my phone tonight!
for those of you who didnt read, some of the improvements over WM5 and WM6 beta are:
dial alphabetic telephone numbers (i.e. 1-800-ABCDEFG) by inputing the letters, no more remembering which number has which letters.
media plugin, control your music directly from the home screen.
continued compatibility with programs such as octrochat, omap clock, and pocketnester.
EDGE+USB at the same time
and for those of you who haven't used wm6 at all before, it has the much improved voicecommand!

Kaishen @ Jul 12th 2007 2:55PM
The MDA has been discontinued. The NEW version is called the Wing. Check it out here: http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/phones/Detail.aspx?device=acc8102d-4506-4eaa-bc2f-9c7b8ec1b1e0

MDA update? T-Mobile has discontinued carrying the phone, I doubt they're devoting resources to developing a WM6 update for it.

I installed it and its great. I'm hoping this also fixes some of the connection problems of the WM6 beta. Skype works again. This biggest problem is that every restart of the phone sets the homescreen back to the t-mobile default.

Meanwhile still waiting over here at Cingular for th news of the upgrade for the 8525....

Can you make this thing work on Samsung BlackJack?
Rob @ Apr 30th 2007 3:13PM
Works great. Reverting back to the T-Mobile Blue home screen after every power off is a minor annoyance, but otherwise the upgrade was flawless (so far).
Anyone know which button is the 'Record' voice button for Voice Command? Also trying to get it to work with a Motorola H500 headset.

I seem to be having issues with the send/receive function with outlook, yahoo and gmail. I get an alert when I use the send/receive command an alert pops up stating that I am roaming and will incur additional charges. I select okay, but the mail never downloads or sends unless I am connected to my laptop via ActiveSync. Has anyone else had the same issue? Other than that, it seems to work fine.

I'm having issues using Voice Command with my Bluetooth headset. I have a Samsung WEP200 headset and had bought Voice Command 1.60, and it worked perfectly -- until I upgraded to WM6, which also uses Voice Command 1.60.
The help file says that Voice Command doesn't work with Bluetooth headsets using the Hands-Free profile, and I think that's where the problem lies. In WM5, when I paired my headset with my Dash, I was able to use the Hands-Free and Headset profiles, but now on WM6 I can only use the Hands-Free profile.
Any fixes? Is this a problem unique to the Samsung WEP200, or is it common to all Bluetooth headsets running in WM6?
Thanks!

I had the same roaming issue and after 4 calls to Tmobile with no help thi8s was my fix. Go into the advanced settings of each email you have configured hit settings>next>next>next>to advanced settings>click use automatice send and receive when roaming. VOILA no more errors and the auto send and rec function is back up and working. I called TMobile and they said since the plan is nationwide with them there would never be a roaming charge just make sure to disable auto send/rec if going INTL. I think this is a glitch in the OS.

I have noticed the following issues with WM6 on the DASH:
1) MyFaves photos are now all washed out and "haloed" once "cropped"
2) IE seems to be spontaneously crashing which it never did before
3) A lot less memory available (to be expected, I suppose)

To "The Gambled" and Shannon,
I am having similar issues while Active Synching with MS Exchange Server 2003 (WM6 on Dash). In my case even if I select the option to allow it to roam and still synch, the synch doesnt work. It gives me new error code 0x80072EE7 , server could not be reached. I have 5 other colleagues who have WM 5 on other devices for whom the active synch with MS Exchange works.
T-Mobile support couldnt help, they said WM 6 issue.

Thank you Shannon (#14). Curious if anyone had any insight how to turn the alerts off for Outlook as the advanced settings section is different than in Gmail and others.
Thank you in advance.
Jesse @ May 16th 2007 2:43PM
Thank you Shannon.
I changed the settings in other email accounts but does anyone know how to change the settings so I don't have the roaming alerts in Outlook?
Thank you in advance!
