Official data sheet for Sprint's PPC-6800
Boy Genius has scored Sprint and HTC's data sheet for the HTC Titan -- known as the PPC-6800 in Sprint guise -- and although it doesn't reveal anything new about the device, it always gives us a reassuring feeling to see official documentation leak out ahead of a device's supposed release date. On the downside, the handset will ship with Windows Mobile 5 installed, but on the plus side, 256MB of in-built Flash is a welcome boost, and the EV-DO radio is upgradeable to more-than-welcome Rev. A speeds. See you soon, dearest Pocket PC!

I hope they tweaked the d-pad compared to the Telus prototype they had CTIA, which was pretty terrible. Unfortunately, it looks quite similar. It was very wobbly. Even if they tightened it up, the lack of a separate center select key always hampers usability considerably. It's a shame they couldn't fix that for Sprint's version.

No antenna would be my first reason to upgrade. The screen on 6700 looks dim in the daylight, hope 6800 will fix that.

To answer a couple of questions for you guys. The Dpad on my P4000 is tight. Although I have heard from a couple of people who say their's is a bit loose. As for the one piece. I have had no problems with incorrect key registers as one piece.
The screen is NO better in daylight. An unfortunate side effect of using transflective screens....great indoor =, very vibrant but the suck in outdoor light.

Its cool that they are making these phones smaller, lighter and thinner every time but people seem to forget about the MOST IMPORTANT thing (IMHO)
BATTERY LIFE!
Unless they're using alien technology it's impossible to have a thin phone and not have a battery that's gonna die on you within 3 hours of you playing with it.
I could gladly take some extra millimeters in exchange of a battery that would at least last the whole day with heavy usage.
I know there are extended batteries but their bulged covers make the phone look weird and feel awkward.

Well, looks like according to other sites that the phone is now delayued until either July or October to put the EV-DO Rev. A and WM6 updates on it.

I heard from a reliable source at Sprint that the 6800 won't be released till about Sept '07. And it Will Not have WM06. It'll still have WM06. Sucks I know. I hope that changes, but for now, that's what I was told.

Don't think I would get one. Had too many problems with my (3) PPC-6700 phones to trust HTC again.

Have had the Media Mogul by HTC from Sprint for about 3 weeks. First PDA I have had and it is pretty slick. However, problems I have encountered:
1. Sprint/Telenav has advertised that this phone works with Telenav without an external device. Now, Telenave denies it has plans to work with phone and Sprint is saying September 2007. One support person said to check for third party GPS tracking/navigation software. Anyone have any ideas?
2. Still have not been able to find the driver to use the phone as phone as modem. Have called Spring support several times (each waiting 30 minutes plus on hold). Noone seems to have any clue about this phone.
3. Cannot display folders on IMAP email accounts. I have been told this is standard with Windows Mobile and even Outlook Mobile. The Blackberry I had prior to this phone would display all folders.
4. Battery life is terrible. But, from what I had read here, that should not be surprising, I suppose. I only am using as a phone most of the day, and only a few calls at that. I get about 8 hours. Again, I have been spoiled by the Blackberry which gave me more than 24 hours with my limited use. Sprint says there is no extended life batter available. Anyone have any clues?
Again, the phone is still pretty slick but I am disappointed with above, as compared to Blackberry 8703.
Thank you,
Byron

Got my Sprint PPC6800 yesterday, upgrade from 6700. Battery about the same as 6700, so leave wifi and bluetooth off unless using them. Dim screen to lowest useable setting. There is an extended battery available (2200 v the standard 1500). Came out with WM6 and EVDO Rev A. Faster than 6700. Built-in voice dial. THINNER and lighter. Better screen. Better Office, and PDF built in. Came with micro SD card (512). Much better camera (2MP with panoramic feature and 8x zoom). GPS receiver bulit in, but needs 3rd party software. Better keyboard.Had no trouble with pdanet. Not perfect, but worth the upgrade from the 6700, and better overall than anything else I've seen.
