Cricket gets Samsung Siren, aka SCH-A870
Cricket Wireless has announced the Samsung Siren as available. With Samsung having such a plethora of handset options available to almost every global wireless carrier these days, this is the first Sammy for Cricket, ever. While the SCH-A870 is nothing to write home about (it's over a year old already), its slick red-and-black (hence, Siren) scheme looks good enough for any Cricket customer's pocket. Standard fare is available here, with Bluetooth, VGA cam (yuck), voice recognition, a 160 x 128 screen rez (double yuck) and VibeTonz all onboard. VibeTonz (we wish we'd see this more, Samsung) lets a customer experience vibration patterns that match an audible ringtone. That feature alone may be a sole reason for some Cricket customers to pick this unit up soon.

i've been looking at the reviews, and im suprised.
i bought this phone in Janurary.
and its the worst phone i've had yet.
and i've had many. but before i could get ANYTHING to send i needed a system update, right when i got it.
it randomly phones people. it never vibrates when i get a text. it says someones calling me, and when i pick it up, it calls them. it also says im on the phone EVERY time i open it.
WORST PHONE IVE EVER SEEN!
the camera is also shit.
the only good thing about this phone is it has blue tooth, but when i send a picture to my computer bluetooth it sends the wrong one, and on the topic of pictures, when i delete one, it deletes the latest taken picture instead of the one i want.
worst part is, ive sent it away 5 times, and its getting worse everytime..

Every web sight advertising the Samsung Siren SCH-A870 advertizes the USB feature. So after wasting $180 on the phone another $30 on the usb data cable, and hours of trying to get this thing to sync with the P.C. with all kind of software, no success. $30 on a U.S.B. Bluetooth, and more software. Still no success. Sure the P.C. and the phone detect each other but no data will transfer between the two. In the phone menu it has options of how to connect to the P.C. (bluetooth or USB). I cant see why since this phone cannot sync with a computer.
My main problem with this is "HUNDRED EIGHTY DOLLARS" and the USB compatible advertizements, and this phone is the first cell phone I have ever had that does NOT sync with a computer to transfer files/data back and forth. Heres another loop hole. Not all SCH-A870 are like this. In my research the only one I found is the Samsung SIREN SCH-A870 distributed by Cricket (a cellular service company).Cricket now charges $150 for this junk.
The following link goes to the Samsung web site, and it specifically says this phone does NOT sync with a computer and does NOT serve as a modem for a computer. Just copy all the following and paste it to the address bar.
