"Danger hiptop 2.0" burns rubber in speed tests
Call it wild speculation -- because that's exactly what it is -- but when you see a bunch of "Danger hiptop 2.0"-class browsers hauling butt at speeds approaching 2.0Mbps (according to dslreports.com's speed test, anyway), it's bound to raise a few eyebrows. Said browsers are coming from the dngr.net domain; we suspect it's possible that the speeds are actually indicative of what's being seen between the dslreports.com server and Danger's proxy, but instead we'd like to dream of a WCDMA-enabled Sidekick being prepped for T-Mobile's 3G launch later this year. Seems plausible enough, right?

It's either that Danger is crazy fast or the Tmobile proxy is awfully slow... big server to big server should talk at least as fast as my 10 megs comcast connection, no?
Lets have a collective dream about fast wireless broadband, and throw the 6800 release date in there too will ya? where on earth is it?!)

"big server to big server should talk at least as fast as my 10 megs comcast connection, no?"
Indeed, but remember that the hiptop accounts likely have an individual bandwidth cap. that probably explains this.

Um, it's because Danger's services use a proxy. Those speeds have nothing to do with the speed between the device and Danger's servers. You can tell nothing about the speed of the device's connectivity from this.
