Sanyo's mobile business to be for sale soon?

There have been rumors of Sanyo's wireless handset division biting the dust for a while now, and the Japanese company may be tapping Goldman Sachs to sell it off as it continues to struggle. Sanyo's February 2006 partnership with Nokia went south by June, and that was quite possibly the last straw in Sanyo's handset future. The company's lone customer in the US market is Sprint (see SCP-8400 and M1), and the company's inability to crack larger markets en masse has caused its demise for the most part. Sanyo's CDMA handsets tend to enjoy a very loyal following, so we'd hate to see it disappear into the ether; any buyers care to keep these fellas afloat?
