Currently, you could add or remove the messaging but it looks like they may be built into the plans the way Verizon is doing this. Basically they are charging $20 for "unlimited" text on network and 5000 text off network. Currently they charge $5 for 250 texts. The "unlimited" plan sounds like a deal for the most extreme text users but a rip off for most customers. In another great oversight Verizon failed to add these "unlimited" options to their voice/data bundles - the people who proabbly use text more than the average customer. Maybe if Verizon customers are lucky Verizon will charge another $20 to turn on & off their phone - Verizon can call it the power freedom plan.

Tom

Comments on

I stand corrected. They are charging $20 for unlimited text on & off network. Still not a great deal. If verizon wants to make current customers happy and draw in many new customers they should focus on free mobile IM. Tie it in with other carriers text and then they would have a strong draw for new customers & old customers alike.

Tom

Comments on

@ Tom - This is an all access pass to UNLIMITED messaging. This includes all other networks, google sms, mobile IM (which is availible on most all VZW phones) and everything but a premium txt (you voting for deal or no deal). Not to mention this is not only for single lines, a Family Share plan with 5 lines can ALL have the same UNL messaging as above for $30 for the entire account. Pretty sweet deal if you ask me. WAY TO GO VZW!

Nate

Comments on

Expensive plans is the reason I left Verizon.
