The GPS is probably the only headline feature - new for Symbian at least - but this seems to have been bodged with a poor propietary Nokia software solution, making a phone running Tom Tom with a bluetooth'ed GPS still a better option for most people who'll actually use it. The camera follows the same lines as everyone elses - impressive numbers, but behind that disappointing performance, because once again "it's only a phone..." - in other words, for what you'll really use it for, it might as well be 3mp, or 2mp, or even less. When it's just a bit of fun, and you still have to get out your proper camera for proper pictures, it really doesn't matter.

tim

Comments on Hands-on with the Nokia N95

I really like this phone - great camera and managed to get the GPS functionality working too.

If you're interested, check out this video from Truphone* which shows the N95 in all it's glory as well as how to use internet telephony settings and make mobile VoIP calls.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMGCYuqqqxs

*Disclaimer: I work for Truphone

Jackieg

Comments on Hands-on with the Nokia N95

this device got me to break a 10 year relationship with Sprint. Additionally, I have been using Treos for 5 years. Don't miss the qwerty, don't miss touchscreen, with the n95 I am so impressed with the functionality of this true convergence device there will be no looking back. And so far the service w/ T-mobile has been flawless. Between Nokia web and T-Mob tech I had this phone fully functional in about two hours from opening the box; including GPS and POP accounts forwarding. I'm in love.

J
