Being with the nation's largest
CDMA carrier certainly has its advantages -- especially when it includes one of the country's largest mobile to mobile communites,
VCAST TV, and unlimited text, pix, and flix. Yep, that's right:
unlimited. Initial reports are stating that on April 15th,
Verizon will come out with new plans that include unlimited messaging. It appears that the single line plans cost about $20 more and family share plans start at $99.99 for 700 minutes. Be on the lookout for more details!

If the new family share plans allow unlimited texting for all lines for only $20 more this will save people a lot of money, especially those who have two teeneagers who each already have a $15 text plan.
fyrestarrter @ Apr 10th 2007 12:10PM
NOW if the other text, pic messaging rip off CINGULAR would get the idea & offer unlimited THEN, we'd be in business!
Tino @ Apr 10th 2007 12:30PM
Its about freaking time!!! Cause my bill is killing me just because of text messaging alone!! Now all Verizon has to work in is there stinking bills cause its the most expensive and I work for them and even with my "discount" I'm still paying over 130 bucks a month!!
theburn16 @ Apr 10th 2007 1:31PM
Tino: y'all don't get a free phone for workin with verizon?
Josh Smith @ Apr 10th 2007 4:24PM
Now do this for the Data plans and you would be set, or let me get a bundle with family share and data on one handset.
Data is just so expensive, especially for "unlimited"
VZWTech @ Apr 10th 2007 10:26PM
It's true! I've been reading about it for the past 2 days and I can't believe it myself. Yeah, the price of the plans go up, but the unlimited txt, pix, flix, and IM is kinda nice. All single/primary lines will cost $20 more, but the benefits are there. If you have multiple lines and change plans, $20 more buys you unlimited for all lines. Not bad
robert @ Apr 10th 2007 10:29PM
whooptie freakin doo. unlimited txt to VERIZON for 20 dollars. last time i checked sprint has unlimited to ANYONE for 10. try, try again verizon
VZWguy @ Apr 10th 2007 11:57PM
Robert:
It's unlimited text, PIX, and FLIX
a feature that costs you 25 dollars on sprint
*insert the more you know logo here*
VZWguy @ Apr 10th 2007 11:58PM
oh, and it's unlimited to EVERYONE robert...not just verizon.
`pisceaN @ Apr 11th 2007 10:36AM
this is a great step toward domination , and yes the data plans plus familiy share is a wonder full idea
Supersecret @ Apr 11th 2007 9:39PM
They will include unlimited text, picture, and instant messaging to anyone in the United States (not just "IN" customers).
Steven @ Apr 12th 2007 11:39AM
It's about time that Verizon got this plan, So I'm on a family plan, I'm the secondary line so what does that mean to me? How much do I pay for the unlimited messaging and does it include the primary line with the unlimited messaging plan or do i have to have two messaging plans for each line or does one cover it all?
timchuk @ Apr 12th 2007 2:41PM
where does it say unlimited to anyone on any carrier?
Joey @ Apr 13th 2007 7:45PM
Yeah. I am currently on a family plan and am paying $5 a month for 250 txt/pix/flix messages to any network. How much would it cost to change over to the unlimited messages (and i heard something about unlimited web and Vcast)? Another site also said starting April 18th there will be a plan that costs $5 and includes unlimited IN txt/pix/flix messages plus 50 to any network. I dont know if it is true so if anyone can clariy that would be nice.
asholi @ Apr 14th 2007 5:34PM
It's unlimited to any carrier, $20.00 per line on a single line plan or $30 on a family share to cover all the lines.
Joey @ Apr 14th 2007 5:41PM
Is that for the unlimited txt/pix/flix messaging to ANY network only, or does that include unlimited mobile web 2.0 and VCast?
Joey @ Apr 14th 2007 6:16PM
I just read that you cannot add this to your plan but have to renew your contract to get this feature. PLEASE TELL ME THIS IS NOT TRUE!!!
Junito @ Apr 14th 2007 10:21PM
Well, all I want to see verizon add are the features provided by alltel and T-mobile. I want to be able to call landlines at no additional cost. When that happens I'll be a happy camper.
mob @ Apr 16th 2007 3:52PM
Unlimited texts? That would mean about 500,000 messages per month with 5 seconds throughput if you use your PC for sending... I can see this exploited commercially.....
Jerry @ Apr 19th 2007 6:57PM
Unlimited texting is $30.00 on the family plan and $20.00 on a single line ...simply add it to your plan you now have ..I will be money ahead by doing it on the family plan...which I am on now ...I was asked when I wanted to get started ...I wanted to start on my account due date which it is.....I have two extra lines on my contract...one of those lines is being used by a grandson...his text messages are unreal ....he can text outside the Verizon network for $20.00 for 5000 text messages ...I and a daughter pay $10.00 apiece for 500 each..so I was paying $40.00 for the three lines...which will drop to $30.00 instead...I have always found it to be reliable texting ...but then I choose where I do this
Aasiyah @ Apr 21st 2007 12:56AM
I'm excited!
On the Verizon Wireless website, just to clarify for those of you concerned, it's $99.99 for 700 minutes also including the unlimited text messaging plan. I just talked to a Verizon Wireless rep and he told me we upgrade our contract but that the whole New Every Two and everything is going to stay the same. You would end your contract at the same time that your old contract would've ended, so no worries! And about the concerns for other lines on the family share plan, ALL of the lines on the family share plan will enjoy unlimited text messaging (picture, video and VCast) for the 20 bucks previously mentioned (on the 99.99 plans and up). For single plans (not family) it's $59.99 for 450 minutes that includes everything and the unlimited text messaging. I'm really glad Verizon came out with this :)
~*~ @ Apr 21st 2007 1:46PM
how much would it be for a family of five to have unlimited texts to any carrier? and is it possible to have more than 700 minutes between the five of us?
elgee02 @ Apr 21st 2007 2:03PM
For $150 a month you can have FIVE lines of service, ALL with UNLIMITED text/pix/flix and IM messaging to ANY carrier and 1400 shared anytime minutes between the lines. $170 for 2100 minutes if you need more.
But the important fact is for the prices I quoted are for FIVE lines and UNLIMITED messaging to ANYONE, so no worries of overages :-)
Braden @ Apr 22nd 2007 2:39PM
so do you get rid of all the texting bills and just add 20$ on to what you pay for lines?? and is verizon going to buy alltel?
elgee02 @ Apr 22nd 2007 3:33PM
Basically it's $20 more for single line plans and $30 more for family share plans (that will cover up to 5 lines) and that will give you the UNLIMITED messaging to ANYONE :-)
Chelsea @ Apr 24th 2007 8:40PM
k so i was checking my phone plan on my mobile web from my phone and i USE to have 2500 texts while paying 20$ for that, when i checked it last night, it says i now have UNLIMITED IN, like i always had, but now 5,000 additinal msgs...so now i automatically have 5000 txts for the 20$ im already paying without even adding that onto my plan ?
elgee02 @ Apr 24th 2007 11:02PM
Yes Chelsea, as of March 1st Verizon Wireless upped the out of network texts from 2,500 to 5,000 on the $20 bundle, and customers with the old 2,500 bundle were upped to the 5,000 automatically.
kyle @ Apr 25th 2007 6:30PM
so wat does that mean for the people with prepaid can they still have the unlimetid txt ?
Melissa @ May 6th 2007 3:26PM
FINALLY!!!
I WAS ABOUT TO SWITCH TO T-MOBILE
When i read about the new unlimited texting i thought i missread THEN i saw a commercial for it, and thought, there must be a catch
Until i looked it up online.
I have a text plan but i keep going oer it. I have 1,500 and Unlimited IN but in April my bill was +160 because of the text messages.
So i can't wait.
TOYA @ May 29th 2007 12:16AM
I know this is going to sound stupid but what is FLIX
ash @ Jun 6th 2007 6:13PM
so. i am on a plan with my parents. and you guys are telling me that. i can add the unlimited to our plan. without having another contract. for 20 dollars, right? please say i got this right. i will die if not. lol. i kid. but please help me out.
stephanie @ Jun 25th 2007 11:54PM
my sister's friend told her that i was being ripped off w/ my 250 texts for $5 plan. he said he was getting unlimited texts for $5... is that true? cuz i think it's a lie...
Debi Johnson @ Jul 7th 2007 7:50PM
I found out that Verizon's offer of unlimited
instant messaging is not entirely true.
Every time you access AIM or refresh your contacts
list, you use up at least a minute of your cell phone peak minutes.
