Boost to offer unlimited plan?
Word on the street has it that Boost is poised to test-market an unlimited plan, though it's unknown at this point whether said plan would be voice only or would throw in all-you-can-eat data as well (a smart move, we reckon). If true, this lines up nicely with a previous rumor that Boost would start offering postpaid plans in the same vein as stablemate Nextel, but here's where it gets really juicy: the phone allegedly to be offered with the unlimited plan isn't an iDEN piece. We don't mean iDEN / CDMA hybrid, either -- it's a straight-up CDMA phone, the yawn-riffic Motorola C290. If that doesn't turn you off, and you live in Dallas, San Antonio, or Houston, look for the plan to hit shortly for $45 a month; meanwhile, folks in the Bay area can expect to shell out $50, and Southern California bears the brunt of it at $55.

Boost already has unlimited Data, 35 cents a day only on days that you use it.

Eeeww! The c290 is pure crap...let alone yawn-riffic. If Sprint is hip to switch Boost users to CDMA, you'd think they'd at least offer dual iDEN/CDMA handsets...how are folks gonna do the whole "where you at" thing?

Those Californian prices are too high; Cricket and MetroPCS offer almost statewide service (each in different markets) for less. To match they would have to throw in unlimited data/texting and nationwide long distance, too.
Here in the Central Valley, Sprint has previously done a $50 unlimited calling plan; they stopped since not many signed up... with the 2 year contract and all (which Cricket and MetroPCS don't require). They even did an unlimited family plan; I hope they do bring that one back, though, since Cricket and MetroPCS don't really have one (unless you count a $10 discount one).

I THINK THE UNLIMITED PLAN IS OK....WHEN BOOST FIRST LAUNCHED THE NEW PLAN I WAS REAL EXCITED..IVE ALWAYS BEEN A TRUE BOOST CUSTOMER SINCE THEY STARTED IN THE INDUSTRY. THE ONLY THING THAT TROUBLED ME ABOUT THE NEW LAUNCH IS THE SALES PEOPLE AND RESELLERS NEED TO BE MORE KNOWLEDGEABLE TO THE NEW PLAN...ALOT OF FALSE INFORMATION WAS GIVEN OUT JUST TO INCREASE SALES ON THESE CELL PACKAGES...THEY WERE TELLING EVERYONE THAT IT WAS TOTALLY FREE, NO MATTER WHERE OR WHAT CITY OR STATE YOU WERE IN, UNLIMITED TEXT, YOU CAN PORT IN YOUR NUMBER, FREE RING TONES FROM BOOST, JUST ALOT OF UN TRUE FACTS....PAYING 55.00 DOLLARS A MONTH IS COOL IF ALL THIS WAS TRUE....STILL NOW I DONT MIND, BUT THE TEXT PART HAS ME MAD...DIDNT KNOW I WAS BEING CHARGED FOR THAT...AND NOW THEY HAVE A UNLIMITED WITH TEXT FOR A FEW BUCKS MORE....YEAH BUT WHAT ABOUT WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT THE PHONE AND WAS BEING CHARGED?...NO CREDIT FOR THE LIE SPREADED!!...NOW EVEN WHEN I TEXT I GET A EXPIRED MESSAGE ERROR.....SO WIERD......BOOST...GET YO GAME BACK ON DECK......OR YOUR GONNA BE JUST LIKE AMPD MOBILE.......JUST TAKES A FEW PISSED PEOPLE ...TO BRING THE WHOLE THING TO A HOLT!!!
