Motorola RIZR Z3 gets priced, reviewed on T-Mobile
T-Mobile's stable got one stall wider when we heard the RIZR Z3 would be hitting this month -- but was it worth the carrier's trouble? T-Mobile is the first US provider to offer up this already long-in-the-tooth handset -- which commands a respectable $100 on a two-year contract -- and LAPTOP had the opportunity to put it through its paces. As we knew, it's really nothing more than a KRZR redone as a slider, so, uh... yeah, if that's what you're looking for, this here handset is the only game in town. LAPTOP was a little less than happy with the phone's music and photo capabilities; the music player was difficult to find and operate, while the pic quality left something to be desired. Call quality was solid, though (as is often the case with Motorola devices) and volume was plenty loud. The magazine's verdict? You can probably do better for the price, but again: if you want a KRZR-esque slider on T-Mobile, the RIZR's your one and only hookup.Read - LAPTOP Magazine review

Ha! This kills me! Let me guess, it's buried under "Settings" like all the other (semi)useful apps are on my PEBL. Cuz, you know, it makes sense that Date Book, Alarm Clock, and Calculator should be under the heading Settings.
I realize I'm not exactly breaking new ground by pointing out Moto's shortcomings in the software department but COME ON.

Ive had an unbranded rizr on my cingular for about 3 weeks now. I find it to be a wonderful phone, I also found the media player to be easy to find and use. As for the camera, I rarely use it since I have a nice digital camera.

i have a rizr z3 that was unlocked and i have at&t service... i cannot get my mms network to work on my phone when i hit the browser i get network not availbe.. other wise nice phone love it...but i cant use the browser part of the phone....
can anyone help? thnaks

It was originally to be launched on March 12th. Any info on what caused the delay? Was it quality issues or software bugs?

Speaking of delayed T-Mo launches, does anyone, anywhere have ANY info on the UMA thing? They went live in Seattle in October and it seemed like the obvious next step would be to release it to the rest of the coutry by Christmas. I only ask because getting a hold of one of the handsets (the Nokia 6136 and the Samsung SGH-T709) is nearly impossible. They're never on Ebay and I've resorted to posting Craigslist ads for Seattle people.

It was delayed cause Motorola didn't fix the software that would have had the phone update correctly for the new Daylight Savings Time.

I've had my unlocked RIZR on T-Mobile since the end of December 2006, and it updated to DST properly, so either the fix was already in, or the cell network determines the timebase for the phone. Now if only I could get the clock to display on the main screen; I know that's a firmware flash away, but Motorola still doesn't show a software update in their support site. I don't feel like rolling the dice; maybe T-Mobile's image would be the best route in that case?
Judging from the T-Mobile product page, they're throwing in a 128 MB MicroSD card; not bad.

the motoRizr is out in yes an odd ugly color..Blue...
and soon will have the black everyone else sees in other websites..and will also have a special edition pink for t mobile...since every other phone for t mobile comes out to be pink..i've heard DANGER AND T MOBILE will be getting their heads together to make a exclusive cherry pink phone named "T Mobile Cherry"
....props i heard it will have the sidekicks menu but not a sidekick device it will be a slider phone..just think strawberry chocolate with a twist..
