Alltel officially releases colorful LG AX8600s
We were just a little giddy when we heard that Alltel would be releasing the LG AX8600 (aka VX8600 for Verizon folks, aka "Chocolate flip") in several popsicle-like colors a few weeks back, and as of now, these beauties are ready to go from Alltel. Alltel's site still lists the puppies as "pre-order", but we hear that they're in Alltel retail stores ready to go home with any customer that's looking for some 1.3 megapixel, touch sensitive, music-ready clamshell love. Drop us a comment if you've seen the new AX8600 in your local Alltel store -- it seems rare to see stores beat their own company website with product availability, but it does happen.[via phoneArena]

yeah.... they are in stores but (at least at my local alltel) they have not given us the go ahead to sell them... (i have worked at alltel for a few weeks now).... the motorola Q is also being set back due to what I believe to be software issues.... we do have a test Q in the store but we are not allowed to let customers see it yet...

I just the new LG AX8600 from Alltel. I had a Samsung but found one problem with it & I liked what Ifound with the AX8600. I really enjoy the texting with this phone. The voice reception is really good. I don't find any of the buttons hard to use at all. One feature I wanted was blutooth because of walking with crutches & this is good. I would reccomend this phone for anyone looking for a slim phone. Only problem I found is with the leather case. You cannot put in the memory card without taking phone out. Rate this a 9.

I've got the AX8600G and I absolutely LOVE this phone. I seriously don't know what I would do without it! I can get my email, the screen is a nice size for web-surfing, there's messenger, mp3 player, camera, expandable memory, up to an hour of video, alarm clock, great reception, the ringtones are LOUD, stereo Bluetooth compatible, an adapter for regular headphones, plus the color (LIME GREEN!!!) is through the roof! I'm an authorized agent and I sell this phone more than any other phone on the table outside of MAYBE the Snap just because the Snap is the "free" phone w/camera. I sold a blue one to my dad and another blue one to my brother! The 8600 is a durable phone at that! I've dropped my phone I don't know how many times and there still isn't a scratch on it! I used to have the Motorola Razr V3m and I dropped it twice and it was busted. I've got tons of songs on my memory card and one of the best things is that you don't have to have headphones attached to listen to your music. It actually plays (quite nicely, I might add) through a speaker on the front of the phone. I love to use it when I'm getting ready for work in the mornings. I think my favorite mp3 feature though is the touch-sensitive keys on the front. You can turn them off you can keep it up and running if you want and it's SO great! In addition, the camera takes AWESOME pictures. I use the pictures I take with the camera as a major selling point. Now, as far as the ringtones go, I enjoy downloading tones from the store, but I love even more taking free sound bytes from the net (like Homer's infamous "D'oh!"), converting them to mp3 format then placing them in my "other_sounds" folder on my memory card. By doing this I have all kinds of funny sayings from movies, cartoons, shows and commercials as well as songs on my phone for free! You can also use the sound recorder on Windows to edit your own songs from CDs into bits for ringtones! Overall, unless LG comes out with another phone to beat this one (in lime green, of course!), I will NOT be switching phones anytime soon! The LG AX8600 is a great little phone (very slim!) that fits everything I need AND want in my phone! I give it a 99 out of 10 (yes, that's TEN)!

I purchased the LG AX8600 about 5 weeks ago. Have you known these phones to have any trouble holding a charge. I have had the phone or battery replaced 5 times in 5 weeks because they do not hold a charge. The phone shows a full charge but does not hold it for long. The salesman gave me an extended life battery on my last return. This battery only stays charged for about 10 hours. I only make and receive about 2 or 3 calls per day. What's Up???
