Gucci to follow Prada down mobile rabbit hole?

Yeah, mobile phones have been status symbols and fashion accessories for some time now, but the concept of a designer's name taking top billing in the product name is a fairly recent development. If Gucci really does have a handset baking in the oven, we're guessing the Italian icon isn't doing the heavy lifting of the development all by its lonesome, though we haven't an inkling who might be involved. Heck, we can't even really make out what kind of form factor we have going on here, and all we've got is this one lonely pic up on flickr to go by. Of course, LG and Prada have set the bar pretty high in this arena, so if this is legit, Gucci had best come out with guns blazing.

About time. My Sanyo made me look so ugly talking on it! I heard they are making one out of Platinum, and another out of pure Vanity, and where the micro sd card goes they have a perfume and makeup kit. The camera is on the inside so when you open it you can see how rediculously good looking you are. It even comes with "I'm too Sexy" and "Vogue" .amr ringtones, and GPS to direct you to the nearest spa. Sounds hot. SEAN1

Fake because:

1. The Gucci monogram is incorrect.
2. Gucci's style guide dictates no product displayed without a model.
3. Gucci's style guide dictates the print logo never to be on the bottom left. It's always on the bottom right.
4. Gucci's style guide dictates the print logo to always have at least a quarter inch space around it. That tagline "mobile phone" intrudes on that space.

I used to work for Gucci and am quite familiar with their strict branding guidelines.
