LG KU970: a Shine with HSDPA?

One area where the
LG Shine doesn't, well...
shine is in the data department. If you can look past the rather dazzling shell of the KE970 and take a glance at the spec sheet, you'll find that it lacks any semblance of 3G-ness, but not to fret: it looks like LG is acknowledging that fatal flaw and correcting it with the KU970. Czech site iDNES.cz is reporting that the phone's formula will stay basically untouched from its predecessor; improvements will be mostly in the guts, with an HSDPA radio, 512MB of onboard storage, and a front-facing cam for video calling. Seems believable enough, considering that the Shine's look is fresh and a model matching the KU970's description just hit the FCC. Any love for the US 3G bands here, LG?

The FCC documents only speak of a "GSM device with Bluetooth" though. I hope I'm wrong ;)

This is public. LG showed it off at 3GSM.
The KU970 is a 3G Shine. It looks exactly the same, and it has the exact same dimensions and specs, except they added a front-facing camera, and to do that and keep it just as thin, they had to remove the memory card slot. They did sort of make up for that by upping the built-in memory from 50 to 512 MB. No other differences.
No US love, either. :(
There's also a KU800 3G Chocolate, too. That has much more upgraded specs compared to the 2G European Chocolate, though.

I'm a CDMA cat, any word on LG launching the Shine on a CDMA carrier state-side? I'm looking for a when and where. Thanks.
