It looks like
Sprint customers wont' be the only ones in the spotlight this spring as Verizon Wireless will also get their hands on the global BlackBerry codenamed "Cyclone." The details are pretty slim at this point other than it's going to be built on the
8800 series, runs OS 4.2, has a
hybrid CDMA / GSM radio for talking on the other side of the pond, and a media player with expandable memory. RIM was even so kind to through in a some AGPS and Bluetooth 2.0. All we have to say is WOW!

Sweet. And me about to move back to the States to start an internationally-traveling job. The stars align once again!

I was actually thinking of jumping to AT&T so I can have a world phone. This thing might keep me with Verizon.

Great but I wonder if Verizon will continue to cripple the GPS function as they have on the 7130e.

According to the manager of a SF area store today, the dual-system BB is in testing with Verizon for a last week of Feb / first week of March availability. Apparently it won't be stocked in stores, you'll order it through a store and have it mailed to you. On arrival, you call VZW to activate the GSM SIM card. No news on price or GSM usage plans.

Well it's about time Verizon step up to the plate. I will be the first to purchase this phone once it's avaiable.
Does anybody have a firm date as to when this phone will be available for the Verizon Network?

But what about for those who like the capabilities of the bb but dont like the size of it.For example the bb8100. Its awesome but is not offered in verizon. Id hate to lugg around a bb that wont fit in my pocket. Do any of you know if it will be offered in verizon anytime soon. I like the coverage id hate to switch to t mobil or cingular who dont have good coverage in my area...
